<p>We are recruiting for a full-time <strong>Occupational Therapy Assistant</strong> to join our team at Marlborough House in Milton Keynes</p>
<p>Marlborough House is a 28-bed, medium-secure forensic mental health inpatient unit that provides care for men in conditions of medium security. The unit consists of two wards: a 20-bed acute ward and an 8-bed rehabilitation ward. It is part of the Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service and is located on the Milton Keynes University Hospital Site.</p>
<p>Recovery is a key element of our approach to treatment at Marlborough house, assisting patients in their journey to change attitudes, values, feelings, goals, and skills. <p>Springbank Ward is an award-winning service which provides inpatient treatment to women with a diagnosis of EUPD/Complex Emotional Needs. We take an innovative and least-restrictive approach as we support service-users to return to the community after frequently spending a lengthy amount of time in other inpatient settings. Our service-users typically complete a 12-month programme involving both DBT and a wider therapeutic activity and group programme. As the only NHS inpatient unit of its kind, our service-users come from across the country.</p>
<p>As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, your role will be to work with the Occupational Therapist to support service-users on Springbank Ward to improve in their overall functioning, engaging in a holistic approach with a focus on engagement in meaningful activity.</p>

  <p>As an HCPC registered Allied Health professional, reporting to the Consultant psychological lead for Tower Hamlets, you will supervise the clinical and professional aspects of all arts therapists working in in adult mental health services. Their line management will be held by other colleagues in either inpatient or locality psychology teams. </p> <p>You will ensure that the art therapists are supported to meet resident's needs via group, partnership working and 1:1 work. This will be through development of guidance and best practice for the art therapy professionals in the borough. Ensuring that activity is effective, acceptable and increasingly co-produced. There will be scope to explore partnership working with voluntary and charitable sector organisations, to further disseminate the benefits of art therapies through supervision and consultation.</p> <p>There will be time for clinical work and other service development activities. </p>

  <p><strong>Hope Service, </strong></p> <p><strong>Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust</strong></p>  <p>The Hope Service offers a PTSD care pathway for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, including victims of trafficking. We also support people with an asylum seeking background living in Initial Accommodation (IA) hotels across the region. We are offering an opportunity to join us as an Assistant Psychologist.</p> <p>The role will involve providing support and assistance to staff and members of the team and undertaking clinical tasks under the supervision of the qualified clinical psychologist. There will also be an opportunity to get involved with routine ongoing audit, research and service evaluation within the team.</p> <p>Our service supports with people with a refugee/asylum seeking background and both experience and a passion for working in this field are essential. People with lived experience of seeking asylum are particularly invited to apply.
