  <p>Cancer Psychological Therapies are excited to recruit a psychological professional with a strong interest in working psychologically with people diagnosed with cancer to our small and friendly team. We are a busy service staffed by psychological professionals enthusiastic about and committed to providing high-quality and compassionate psychological care to patients diagnosed with cancer within Queens Hospital and King George Hospital. We welcome applicants new to working in oncology and are keen to support professional development in this field.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post-holder will be expected to manage an individual caseload of patients with cancer referred to the service, providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions, both for in-patients and out-patients. They will work closely with colleagues in Cancer Psychological Therapies to manage the waiting list, including offering triage assessments and patient workshops, and ensure risk assessment and management plans are up-to-date and adhered to. They will work collaboratively with colleagues in their team, as well as within the wider oncology services and Trusts as part of providing excellent holistic care for patients. They will be supported to develop working relationships other psychological professionals across Clinical Health Psychological Services and North-East London Cancer Alliance. They will need to be able to routinely travel to both Queens Hospital and King George Hospital. They will attend regular supervision and line management as part of their role.</p>

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, who is able to work within an emotionally demanding environment to deliver high quality and effective arts therapy provision across East London Community Forensic Service.   <p>The Community Forensic Service provides in-reach support to help service users move safely towards discharge and reduce length of stay in secure care; and enhanced support in the community, promoting sustained recovery and quality of life and reducing recalls to hospital. The service comprises several borough based multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, FCPNS, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, Social Workers, Life Skills Recovery Workers and Peer Support and Care Peer Support Workers. The service model places a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary work and service user involvement, and co-production. The model stresses the importance of working across the care pathway from inpatient to community, and there is an emphasis on building relationships and signposting with community services (including community arts projects and arts in health providers) to work collaboratively to address the needs of the diverse population</p>

This is not a traditional crisis or inpatient role, this is a unique opportunity to lead a service that offers early, intensive support in the community, tailored to the needs of young people with complex presentations.You will be based within Newham Council's Edge of Care Service and work closely with partners across health, social care, and education to deliver high-impact interventions and reduce the need for restrictive practices.</p>
