  <p><strong>Job Overview</strong>Newham is one of London's most diverse and also most deprived boroughs, with one of the highest rates of psychosis in the capital. This creates a real need for timely, evidence based care. Our challenge is not just to meet this demand, but to build a model of care that works in partnership with service users, families, and the wider community.</p> <p>The Newham Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIS) team plays a key role in delivering the NHS Long Term Plan, particularly its focus on prevention through early detection and intervention. We are looking for psychologists who can bring both strong therapeutic skills and the ability to collaborate across services. Alongside delivering NICE recommended therapies such as CBT for psychosis and family interventions, you will work as part of a committed multidisciplinary team, ensuring care is joined up, formulation driven, and responsive to our community's needs.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As a psychologist you will be central to the MDT, providing therapy to service users and their families, and supporting the team through reflective practice, consultation, supervision, and training. You will also help the team to think about and manage the complex relationship dynamics that can arise in psychosis, so that care remains safe, effective, and compassionate.</p>

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, who is able to work within an emotionally demanding environment to deliver high quality and effective arts therapy provision across East London Community Forensic Service. We need someone who can work with a high degree of autonomy, who can use initiative in making decisions, is skilled in scoping and forming links with other services and who also works well within a variety teams.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Community Forensic Service provides in-reach support to help service users move safely towards discharge and reduce length of stay in secure care; and enhanced support in the community, promoting sustained recovery and quality of life and reducing recalls to hospital. The service comprises several borough based multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, FCPNS, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, Social Workers, Life Skills Recovery Workers and Peer Support and Care Peer Support Workers. The service model places a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary work and service user involvement, and co-production. The model stresses the importance of working across the care pathway from inpatient to community, and there is an emphasis on building relationships and signposting with community services (including community arts projects and arts in health providers) to work collaboratively to address the needs of the diverse population</p>

The post holder will offer flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessment and treatment with a focus on providing services to young people with neuro-developmental needs. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit. The post holder will play a direct role in Quality Improvement (QI) and audit projects as necessary.</strong></p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Educational Psychologist, Arts, Occupational or Systemic Therapist with a background of working with education settings and/or experience in child and adolescent mental health, to work within a growing multi-disciplinary Mental Health Support in Schools Team (MHST). You will use your knowledge, skills, and experience to supervise trainee and qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) and contribute to the general service development and functioning.</p>

This is not a traditional crisis or inpatient role, this is a unique opportunity to lead a service that offers early, intensive support in the community, tailored to the needs of young people with complex presentations.You will be based within Newham Council's Edge of Care Service and work closely with partners across health, social care, and education to deliver high-impact interventions and reduce the need for restrictive practices.</p>
