 Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

  <p>This is an exciting time to join us in making a real change for children and young people across our area, as we are looking for a <strong>Children and Young People's Well-Being Practitioner</strong> to work in our team of experienced clinical psychologists, specialist epilepsy nurses and consultant paediatricians based at York Hospital. </p> <p>We are delighted to be chosen as a national pilot site for integrating mental health support into children and young people's epilepsy care. This project, which began in March 2023, is focused on the implementation of mental health screening and intervention for children and young people in our region.</p> <p><strong>If you wish to apply for this vacancy as a secondment opportunity, please seek permission from your current line manager first</strong></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Your role will be to deliver an innovative, manualised CBT-based intervention, to children and young people who have been screened by their team and shown to require psychological support. This intervention, MICE (Mental Health Intervention for Children with Epilepsy), is designed to improve the treatment of mental health problems in young people with epilepsy and has been shown to be effective in a large-scale research project. </p> <p>It can be delivered by telephone, video conferencing or face to face, and training will be provided. You will be using evidence-based interventions with supervision from the senior clinical psychologist. This will include a range of therapeutic self-management interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate psychological problems, as well as the administration and teaching of psycho-educational classes to groups of parents and children and young people.</p> <p><strong>Team &amp; Support</strong></p> <ul>  <li><strong>York Hospital Paediatric Psychology Service</strong>, part of a larger<strong>Department of Psychological Medicine</strong>.</li>  <li>Supervision and collaboration with experienced psychologists including:   <ul>    <li><strong>Dr Emma Peakman</strong>- Consultant Clinical Psychologist</li>    <li><strong>Dr Anya Knight</strong> - Senior Clinical Psychologist</li>   </ul> </li> </ul> <p>You will be joining a dedicated paediatric psychology team and have opportunities to continue to learn and develop. </p>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Psychology service at Stockton Hall Hospital. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Consultant Psychologist, with robust experience within a forensic setting; someone who is a confident leader and is keen to develop to contribute to service development, including trauma informed care.</p><p>At Stockton Hall Hospital, just outside York, we are well-known for producing positive clinical outcomes for highly complex patients. We currently provide a medium-secure care setting in which patients access a broad range of therapeutic interventions including one-to-one and group-based psychological treatments.</p><p>Our service has produced excellent recovery results for patients, maximising their opportunity to progress to conditions of lower-security and community settings as safely and efficiently as possible.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul> <li>You will be a confident leader who is keen to help develop others.</li> <li>You will understand the dynamics of working in a secure hospital and be able to help offer containment and support to those who need it within a culture of compassion.</li> <li>You will provide professional leadership to the psychology team, contribute to the development of services and work to influence organisational thinking relating to the delivery of psychologically informed care.</li> <li>You will advise at a senior management level on psychological aspects of organisational functioning, including the health and well-being of our colleagues.</li> <li>You will also work clinically with a dynamic multi-professional team leading development of individual formulations and psychological assessment.   <p><strong>We are looking for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to work alongside an integrated mental health team based at HMP Full Sutton.</strong></p><p>Rethink Mental Illness work alongside Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) and Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an integrated stepped care mental health service within HMP Full Sutton.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will work as part of
an integrated primary care mental health team within the Prison to provide high
volume, low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive
behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions, for clients with
mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
This includes providing guided self-help in both 1:1 and group formats,
in line with the current Step 2 IAPT guidelines. I am an accredited PWP, either with BPS or BABCP</p><p>You will also work

  <p>The team compromises a range of highly skilled professionals who work collaboratively to provide the highest quality of care for those with mental health needs within the prison and for Rethink Mental Illness employees, this is carried out between 0800 1600 Monday to Friday.</p><p>You will work as part of an integrated care mental health team delivering Step 1 interventions, working alongside other professionals to support the mental health of the prison population.The team support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery, building a professional relationship of trust in a non-judgmental manner with every client as a basis for developing and enabling therapeutic relationships.This ranges from providing informal information, support, and signposting, facilitating group activities and forums, to developing and training Peer Mentors and delivering service user engagement activities.
