Location: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Tongxiang, Yantai, Hongkong.
We are seeking for a dedicated Career and University Counsellor to deliver exceptional individual and group university, career, and academic guidance. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in global education systems, bilingual proficiency, and strong communication skills. Additional responsibilities include delivering parent programming and building and maintaining relationship with university admission officers.
Competencies and Responsbilities

Counsellor Competencies and Responsibilities
• Individual Counselling: Provide excellent, data-driven university, career, and academic counselling based on the practices and expectations of our YCYW Career and University Guidance Programme.
• Group Counselling and Teaching: Effectively teach, develop, and refine the Career and University Guidance Curriculum in a classroom or group setting.
• Understanding of International Higher Education: Possess expert knowledge and experience of university systems and application procedures for the UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Europe, and Japan.
• Parent Engagement: Provide programmes to help parents understand university, career, and academic topics to support student career and academic development and university applications.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external partners, including universities and career organisations, to enhance guidance offerings and opportunities for students. Actively present at international university and career conferences.

• Language and Cultural Competency: Fluent Bilingual English and Mandarin speaker respecting Chinese and Western cultural characteristics. Model global citizenship by understanding and positively responding to cultural differences within the school community.
Collaborative and Inclusive Culture Competency
• Collaboration: Thrive in a collaborative learning and organisational culture, valuing team approaches to planning and providing engaging, challenging, supportive, and inclusive student experiences.
• Communication: Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents/families, and the wider school community.

Other School Responsibilities
• Engagement in School Responsibilities: Contribute to the school’s extracurricular and enrichment programmes, enhancing wider school development and growth.
• Support Other School Initiatives: Support school initiatives and responsibilities as determined by the School Leadership Team.
• Marketing and Engagement: Support School Admissions and Marketing programmes related to university and career counselling

Requirements
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognised institution.

Professional Experience:
• Minimum four years of experience in university guidance, admissions, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in providing career and academic counselling to students.
