Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the new Enhanced Autism Support and Empowerment (EASE) team for a motivated and experienced clinical and operational Team Leader to join, lead and mobilise our new team.

This is a key leadership role, providing operational oversight and day-to-day management to a dynamic multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people with autism.

  • Provide operational leadership and oversight for the EASE team within the CYP Autism Service.
  • Coordinate and manage the deployment, supervision and daily activities of designated staff.
  • Monitor and manage staff sickness, annual leave, flexitime, appraisals, personal development plans, and informal disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with Trust standards, including clinical quality, key performance indicators, and financial management targets.
  • Manage and monitor service budgets with the support of the Service Manager.
  • Maintain own clinical competencies, providing clinical input to support the team and service delivery where appropriate.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Proven leadership and team management experience within a health or social care setting.
  • A background in working with children and young people with autism or neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while supporting and motivating others

Main duties of the job

  • Day to day responsibility for the clinical and operational management and delivery ofEnhanced Autism Support and Empowerment (EASE)across South Staffordshire.
  • Ensure that a high-quality service is delivered within this specialist area and that all National and Trust targets and standards are adhered to including the recording of information within the IT systems.
  • Responsible for the management of staff within the team, leadership, the delivery and delegation of management supervision and ensuring appropriate clinical / professional supervision takes place as per Trust Policy.
  • Carry out clinical work to maintain clinical competencies and team performance. In conjunction with the service leads and multi professional partners they will develop the provision and quality of services for patients. This will demonstrably reflect the principles of clinical governance, clinical effectiveness, cost effectiveness as well as Trust and National Policy.

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Art Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Family Therapist, CYP trained CBT Therapist or Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist
  • Evidence of substantial experience of assessment and intervention with children and young people with highly complex mental health needs, Autism and their families

Desirable
