The SLT team at Hillingdon Hospitals are looking for an enthusiastic band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive adult in-patient service.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our neurorehabilitation SLT team at Hillingdon Hospital. The role is primarily split between our acute Stroke Unit and Alderbourneneuro-rehabilitation ward. There will be opportunities to gain experience on the acute wards, as well as achieving Videofluoroscopy competencies and/or FEES competencies. The post holder will work as part of the SLT team and wider MDT and will be supported and supervised by a Highly Specialist SLT as well as the Clinical Lead SLT.
You will have previous experience of the assessment and management of neurorehabilitation patients including dysphagia management and the development of communication therapy plans. Previous experience of videofluoroscopy and MDT training is desirable. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
Main duties of the job
You will receive regular clinical supervision, monthly CPD sessions, peer support and evidence-based practice sessions provided by our very supportive team.
As a team we look to continually improve the service we provide; this role also offers opportunity for participating and leading on service development projects and outcome measures. Furthermore, the hospital is currently developing academic links with nearby Brunel University, which has resulted in a number of therapy colleagues participating in supported studying.
