Senior Mental Health Support Worker
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mental Health Support Worker to support young people with complex needs in Camden.
Position: Senior Mental Health Support Worker
Location: Camden, London
Contract: Permanent, full time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Salary: £31,203 per annum plus pension and benefits
Closing Date: Sunday 12th October 2025
About the role
This is an opportunity to join a national charity that supports people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. You will be part of an innovative supported accommodation service for young people with mental health and complex needs, delivered in partnership with local authorities and mental health services.
In this role, you will:
- Manage referrals and case coordination for young people, including those leaving inpatient services
- Develop and review needs and risk assessments, support and risk management plans
- Supervise and support staff and volunteers to deliver high quality care
- Build supportive, psychologically informed relationships with young people
- Work closely with local partners to provide joined-up, client-centred support
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety standards are met
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant qualification (e.g. psychology, counselling, social work, mental health) or equivalent experience
- Significant experience supporting young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Strong caseload management, risk assessment and multi-agency working skills
- The ability to build therapeutic and professional relationships with young people
- A good understanding of safeguarding and equality practices
- Supervisory experience is desirable
