We are a UK-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with brain injuries. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals offer expert neurorehabilitation services that support individuals in regaining lost skills due to brain injuries. We provide care to people who have sustained brain injuries from trauma, illness, or substance abuse, helping them to meet their personal recovery goals.
We are looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Llanelli, working with individuals with acquired brain injuries. This is an exciting opportunity to lead neurobehavioural rehabilitation interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team in a specialised setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments for adults with acquired brain injuries, using a variety of clinical tools, self-report scales, structured observations, and interviews.
Lead pre-admission assessments and contribute to collaborative, holistic neurobehavioural formulations of rehabilitation needs.
Develop SMART goals in collaboration with service users and the multidisciplinary team.
Formulate and implement specialist psychological and neuropsychological interventions based on current evidence-based best practices.
Conduct therapeutic interventions (individual, family, and group modalities) tailored to the needs of the service user.
Provide expert psychological advice to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring best practice in therapeutic approaches and care planning.
Undertake psychological risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk management.
Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping in accordance with professional and organisational guidelines.
Consult with and provide psychological guidance to carers and families of service users.
Participate in the on-call rota for the unit.
Engage in research and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
Person Specification
Essential
Degree in Psychology accepted by the British Psychological Society for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or equivalent qualification to meet HCPC registration requirements.
HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
At least 2 years post-qualification experience as a clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical area.
Knowledge of acquired brain injury pathology, neuroanatomy, symptoms, and rehabilitation approaches.
Experience in producing clinical reports and working within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Experience in supporting team formulations and promoting psychological thinking within multidisciplinary team settings.
Desirable
Interest or experience in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation.
Experience in conducting research in neuropsychology or related fields.
