Job Summary -We are seeking committed and compassionate Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our agency workforce supporting NHS mental health services. The post-holder will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to service users experiencing acute or long-term mental health conditions. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, promoting recovery, risk management, and patient-centered care in a variety of mental health settings.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities- Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments and develop person-centered care plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions aligned with individual recovery goals.
- Administer medications safely following NMC standards and local policies.
- Manage challenging behaviors using approved de-escalation and PMVA techniques.
- Monitor mental state, physical health, and risk levels, escalating concerns promptly.
- Support patients experiencing crises, using trauma-informed and compassionate approaches.
- Implement and regularly update risk assessments, ensuring safety of service users and staff.
- Adhere to safeguarding procedures for adults and young people.
- Maintain a safe therapeutic environment in line with NHS Trust and CQC standards.
- Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code and NHS policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.
- Provide clinical documentation that is clear, accurate, and completed promptly.
- Participate in shift handovers, ward rounds, and care planning meetings.
- Engage with families and carers, offering support and education where appropriate.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration.
- Minimum 6 months of recent experience in mental health settings (NHS experience desirable).
- Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., PMVA/MAPA, BLS, Manual Handling).
- Excellent communication, judgement, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt to new environments quickly.
- Right to work in the UK.
