Description

Priory Cragston Court is looking to recruit a Recovery Support Worker to join the team. This is a part time, 19.75 hour role working on a 7 week rolling rota. You will work 2 x 11.25 hour shifts for 6 weeks and 1 x 11.25 hour shift on week 7.

Cragston Court in Blakelaw, Newcastle upon Tyne is a unit providing tailored rehabilitation and recovery for up to 20 men and women with complex and enduring mental health needs for adults over the age of 18.

Cragston Court is equipped to deliver mental health, nursing and rehabilitation support for people who are experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

As a Recovery Support Worker, you will assist nursing colleagues with the assessment and implementation of individual service user support plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of service users. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

  • To provide practical support and responsive care to service users who require support in their rehabilitation and recovery whilst ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
  • Provide specific interventions with service users as delegated by a Registered Nurse, and following training and competency attainment. Such interventions include Observation and Engagement with service users, escorting on appointments, and being involved in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and attend other meetings as requested
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
