Psychologist - Yorkshire Primary School

Location: Yorkshire Primary SchoolSalary Range: £54k - £64k FT term time or £62k - £73k FT 52 weeks

Overview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and child-centred Psychologist to join a Primary School in Yorkshire. The role focuses on supporting pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and additional learning differences. You'll work closely with school leaders and staff to help create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out psychological assessments and provide clear, practical guidance to inform individual learning and support plans.

  • Develop and share psychological formulations to support children presenting with complex needs.

  • Offer consultation and reflective practice to teachers and support staff, helping to embed therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches within the school.

  • Collaborate with the wider pastoral and inclusion teams to ensure a joined-up approach to pupil wellbeing.

  • Maintain accurate records and engage in regular professional supervision and continuing development.

Essential Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Psychologist (Educational, Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic).

  • Experience working with primary-aged children and supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, or developmental needs.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across school teams.

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive emotional wellbeing.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a mainstream or specialist primary education setting.

  • Confidence delivering staff training, workshops, or group interventions.
