Job Title: Learning Disability / Mental Health Support Worker

About the Role:
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, providing person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting clients with daily living skills, personal care, and social activities

Promoting independence and choice
-
Supporting individuals with emotional regulation and managing behaviours of concern

Maintaining accurate records and following care plans
-
Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams

Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies where applicable
Requirements:
-
Previous experience - 6 months minimum - supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Empathetic, reliable, and committed to person-centred care

Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one)

Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)
Desirable:

Experience with autism, ADHD, complex behaviours, or forensic mental health

Knowledge of safeguarding and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
