Mental Health Peer Support Worker

Peer Support Worker

Join us as we launch a brand-new residential rehabilitation and Discharge to Assess service supporting people with complex mental health needs on their recovery journey. This exciting new development offers a unique opportunity to help shape an innovative service that supports people experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties to build confidence, develop practical living skills, and move towards greater independence.

About the Service

The Stewarts is a new residential mental health service providing two distinct pathways designed to support people at different stages of their recovery journey. The service offers Intensive Enablement and Rehabilitation beds, supporting people for up to 18 months within a structured and therapeutic environment. The focus is on recovery, skills development, building confidence, promoting independence, and preparing people for successful move on into longer term accommodation. Alongside this, The Stewarts provides Discharge to Assess (D2A) beds, offering short term support of up to six weeks for people stepping down from acute mental health wards or requiring a short term step up from community services. Through structured assessment, regular reviews, and collaborative planning, individuals are supported to move on to the most appropriate longer term pathway. The service supports adults aged 18 and over who may present with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, co existing substance use, mild learning disabilities, complex physical health needs, or behaviours that challenge services. Every individual is supported through a personalised, strengths based approach that promotes recovery, independence, and social inclusion.

As a Peer Support Worker, you will draw upon your own lived experience of recovery to promote hope, empowerment, and positive change for the people we support.
