Mental Health Clinical Implementation & Product Associate

About Anathem

Anathem is a fast-growing AI startup building human-empowered AI tools for frontline professionals across mental health services and policing. Our platform automates complex clinical and operational documentation, supports safer decision-making, and gives clinicians back the mental bandwidth to focus on people — not paperwork.

We currently work with 10 NHS Trusts and private clinics. As we move from early pilots to large-scale rollouts, we’re looking for a psychologically-minded professional to ensure our AI isn't just "efficient," but clinically sophisticated, safe, and empathetic.

The Role

We are looking for a psychologist first and a prompt engineer second. This role is designed for someone who understands the weight of a clinical note and the nuance of a patient’s narrative. You don't need any experience in AI or prompt engineering—we will provide all the training required. You will be the face of Anathem for our clinicians. You will lead their onboarding, listen to their professional needs, and then return to our platform to "teach" the AI how to write better, safer, and more nuanced clinical outputs.

How This Role Benefits Your Clinical Knowledge & Skills

This position offers a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of psychology and the future of healthcare technology.

  • Elite Clinical Supervision: You will work under the supervision of Dr. Guy Northover, Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Developing "The Clinical Eye": While you will not be providing direct patient care, you will be responsible for assessing the quality of clinical care and outputs at scale. You will develop a detailed, high-level understanding of what "good" looks like across a multitude of different environments—from acute wards to community CAMHS.
  • Mastery of Clinical AI Implementation: You will become an expert in the implementation of AI within clinical practice, understanding the ethical, safety, and operational frameworks required to move digital health from a pilot to a standard of care.
  • Research Opportunities: You will have the opportunity to be involved in research projects running across numerous NHS organisations, with a specific focus on AI-assisted Video Therapy (AVT) and its impact on patient outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Onboarding & Clinician Engagement

  • Lead Training & Adoption: Conduct onboarding sessions for psychologists, nurses, and doctors, helping them feel confident as they adopt AI tools.
  • Run Feedback Loops: Facilitate structured feedback sessions with users. Your job is to look past the surface and understand the clinical intent behind their requests.
  • NHS Partnership: Work closely with NHS Project Implementation teams to manage timelines and ensure the tool fits into the Trust's specific digital ecosystem.

Clinical Quality & Prompt Design

  • Directly Refine AI Outputs: You will undertake prompt engineering (with our training) to refine how the AI summarizes sessions or drafts formulations.
  • Technical Iteration: You will translate clinical feedback into precise logic—no software coding required—ensuring the AI respects trauma-informed language and professional standards.
  • Audit & Governance: Ensure all outputs remain safe and useful for a wide range of mental health professionals across the NHS.

Who We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • Psychology/Clinical Background: A degree in Psychology (or a related mental health field) is essential. You must understand clinical documentation and the therapeutic process.
  • No AI Experience Required: We will provide all training for prompt engineering and technical tasks.
  • Relationship Management: Experience (or a natural talent) for working with project managers and stakeholders within the NHS.
  • Analytical Rigor: You are obsessed with the details and can spot when a clinical note lacks the necessary depth or nuance.

What We Offer

  • Full Technical Training: Mastery of prompt engineering—a cutting-edge skill at the intersection of psychology and AI.
  • Academic Exposure: Involvement in multi-site NHS research projects.
  • Impact: A chance to shape how AI is responsibly adopted across the NHS, saving thousands of hours of clinical time and reducing clinician burnout.

Why This Role Matters

Most AI is built by engineers who have never stepped foot in a clinic. We believe the best AI tools for mental health must be built by people who understand the human mind. You will be the guardian of that clinical integrity, ensuring our technology serves both the clinician and the patient.
