Lead Clinical Psychologist - 8b - Luton

Job Title: Lead Clinical Psychologist Band: 8b Hours: 30 hours per week (0.8 WTE) Location: Luton Service: CAMHS Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 months (initially) Pay £45 - £70 umbrella equivalent Role Overview Evergreen is a Tier 4 CAMHS Inpatient Unit providing specialist care to adolescents with complex mental health needs. We are seeking an experienced Band 8b Lead Clinical Psychologist to lead and manage the psychological therapies provision within the unit. This is a senior leadership role requiring extensive inpatient CAMHS experience, strong MDT working, and the ability to lead service development. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Psychology provision within the Tier 4 Inpatient Unit Provide highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for adolescents with complex mental health presentations Deliver evidence-based therapies (CBT and third-wave approaches essential) Provide specialist risk assessment and risk management Act as care coordinator within CPA framework Lead and coordinate Assistant Psychologists, Trainees and qualified Psychologists Provide supervision, consultation and training across the MDT Contribute to service development, governance and audit Liaise closely with Tier 3 CAMHS, Crisis Teams, Education, Social Care and external agencies Contribute to clinical governance, outcome measures and service evaluation Occasional community visits may be required across the local geographical patch.

Essential Criteria HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Post-qualification experience in Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology Significant experience within CAMHS Experience working within Tier 4 / Inpatient settings Experience leading and supervising psychologists Strong CBT and third-wave CBT experience Experience working with complex adolescent presentations including: Psychosis Severe depression Self-harm Eating disorders Neurodevelopmental conditions Strong MDT and multi-agency liaison experience ? Desirable Post-doctoral training in specialist areas Experience in Early Intervention Experience in service development and leadership Management training
