Bedford Borough Educational Psychology Service is growing.
As part of our ambitious Experts at Hand programme, we are expanding our team and looking for Educational Psychologists who want to make a meaningful difference to children, young people, families and schools.
We are proud of the strong relationships we have built with our schools and the high level of demand for our service. 97% of our schools actively choose to buy additional Educational Psychology support because they value our work, our psychological approach and the impact we have on outcomes for children and young people.
Alongside statutory responsibilities, our Educational Psychologists are actively involved in consultation, training, organisational development, research and strategic SEND projects. This creates opportunities to apply psychology at individual, group, systemic and strategic levels.

To join us, you will:
- Hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or be eligible for registration before taking up post
- Be committed to improving outcomes for children and young people
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be able to work collaboratively with schools, families and multi-agency partners
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.The successful applicant will be required to declare any spent and unspent convictions, adult cautions (simple or conditional) that are not "protected" as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020)
