Job Overview

The role offers an opportunity to join a passionate group of psychological professionals within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust's Salford community services. You will be a key member of the community psychological profession's leadership team, driving professional practice and collaboration across local, regional and national initiatives.

Main Duties of the Job

Lead the adult community mental health services in the Salford locality, overseeing teams such as the Referral and Assessment Hub, specialist community mental health teams, the age inclusive neighbourhood mental health team, and the CERN (complex emotional and relational needs) pathways. Work closely with adult and older adult psychological leads and operational staff to support governance, service development, and the effective use of resources.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Current HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
  • Leadership/management qualification with proven ability to lead and build effective teams
  • Postgraduate study or equivalent specialist experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of psychological approaches within an adult community mental health service
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team across boundaries
  • Ability to formulate and work adaptively within complex organisational systems
  • Good understanding of workforce development
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in one or more areas of specialist psychological assessment and treatment
  • Clinical experience with evidence of leadership in adult mental health services
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and professional leadership
  • Current role as Consultant Psychological Professional in an active clinical capacity
  • Experience in a management role
