We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 or Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join our Community Mental Health Team, specifically working with older adults. This post is suitable for an existing Band 6 nurse or for those looking to progress from Band 5 to Band 6, and may also be suitable for a newly qualified nurse.

• Manage individual casework efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of care.
• Handle a defined caseload and maintain recording systems in line with trust standards.
• Deliver professional standards of care using evidence based practice.
• Assist medical staff and members of the primary care team, voluntary agencies and other professionals to meet the needs of the people of East locality.
• Participate in team meetings and review client care and needs with senior members of the community mental health team.
• Interpret Trust and NHS policies for clients, families, and professionals as required.
• Ensure clear communication with colleagues, clients, and families, giving written confirmation of verbal communications where necessary.
• Promote the recovery agenda with service users.
• Take responsibility for maintaining and advancing own professional knowledge and keeping abreast of current developments.
