    We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 MRI Superintendent to join our MRI Team at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G, with a competitive salary range on offer.

Job Profile To scan patients, working closely with the Band 7 Radiographers . Ensure a high standard of patient care, and participate in the monitoring of standards Ensure that any person entering the MRI scanner is appropriately safety checked in accordance with departmental policy Ensure that patients, relatives and staff are appropriately informed of any discussions relating to patient examinations.
Job Type: This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Be flexible in their approach as the department will operate between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9-5 with an on call service. Participate in a long day rota over a 6 day working week (Monday to Saturday) in 4 different locations within the hospital, and undertake on call shifts throughout the week, weekends and Bank Holidays. Work as part of senior team liaising with all stakeholders including Radiologists and referring Clinicians. Key Duties 
To scan patients, working closely with the Band 7 Radiographers .Ensure a high standard of patient care, and participate in the monitoring of standardsEnsure that any person entering the MRI scanner is appropriately safety checked in accordance with departmental policyEnsure that patients, relatives and staff are appropriately informed of any discussions relating to patient examinationsAssess the physical, mental and communication abilities and needs of individual patientsPosition patients accurately for the appropriate examinations, taking into account their abilities, needs and limitationsAssist in radiological procedures, utilising their nursing skills, knowledge and experience. Appropriately adapt with assistance from a mentor their standard technique to ensure that diagnostic images are obtained from patients with limited capabilities of any kindSeek advice from colleagues and senior Radiographers when requiredUndertake IV injections if appropriately trained To liaise with MRI Superintendent and Band 7 Radiographers and the reporting Radiologist to ensure that the protocol used for an examination is suitably matched to the clinical indications for the procedure To operate accurately and safely complex radiological equipment, requiring a high degree of manual dexterityTo seek guidance from Band 7 Radiographer and/or the reporting Radiologist to fully assess the images produced following examination. To ensure that any necessary additional examinations are undertaken within a single patient attendance where possible To ensure that all the documentation relating to an examination is appropriately organised to ensure rapid and accurate transit through the Administrative and Clerical systems of the Directorate To work unsupervised and participate in on-call and weekend work when training is completed and competencies have been signed off Policy, Service Development and Implementation To be familiar with and understand the Clinic's policies and procedures in relation to COSHH, Fire, Health and Safety at Work regulations and to attend mandatory trainingSkills & Experience
