The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join a multidisciplinary team based in Tameside. This role is ideal for a practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality mental health care within a community setting and is looking for a rewarding temporary contract.

As a CPN, you will manage a defined caseload of service users with complex mental health needs, providing comprehensive assessments, risk management, and evidence-based interventions to support recovery and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Caseload Management: Managing a complex caseload of service users within the Tameside area.
  • Assessment & Care Planning: Conducting thorough mental health assessments and developing collaborative, person-centered care plans.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and managing risks effectively, ensuring the safety of service users and the public.
  • Medication Management: Administering and monitoring psychiatric medication.
  • MDT Collaboration: Working closely with Psychiatrists, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists to provide holistic care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • NMC Registration: Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Experience: Proven experience working at Band 6 level within a community mental health setting.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Transport: A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits is essential.
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).
