We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Leicestershire Adult Eating Disorder Service.
The team is well established and have been providing high quality care for the residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for over 30 years.
The team assess and provide individual care plans for recovery through evidence-based interventions and strong therapeutic relationships to patients with a variety of eating disorders, on one to one basis and in group settings.
Clinical associate psychologists are a key part of our team and the successful candidate will join our current psychology team Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate Psychologist and Psychology Assistants.
The service team also consists of nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, administrators, dietitians, research and evaluation associates. Teamwork and collaboration is highly valued in the service and encouraged from all.
Experience of working with people with an eating disorder will be a particular strength for the right candidate. However, we are able to offer opportunities for with those with limited experience in limited experience in a developmental role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with people who use our services to develop a shared understanding of their eating disorder, how they cope and the impact this has on their mental, physical health and well-being and those around them (psychological assessment and formulation).
Under supervision of qualified clinical psychologists they will deliver psychological interventions such as CBT guided self-help, CBT and other appropriate therapy models. The post holder will manage their own caseload.
A good understanding of some of the physical and psychological risks experienced by our patients will be helpful and you will be supported with this alongside training and development opportunities relevant to your role and equipping you with specialist skills.
You will also be able to take part in our weekly CPD programme, where we have an extensive range of internal and external speakers. We have a strong culture of research and a continuous drive for improving quality, and there is plentiful opportunity to contribute to our ongoing programme.
