Job Description

As a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care to individuals with a wide range of mental health needs. You will work within NHS mental health units, inpatient wards, crisis services, specialist mental health care homes, and community-based environments, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient support.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments
  Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and emotional support
  Support patients experiencing acute mental health challenges and distress
  Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes
  Lead and supervise care staff to ensure high standards of practice
  Promote patient safety, dignity, and recovery-focused care
  Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and challenging situations

Requirements

• NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
• Minimum 6 months post-registration experience in a UK mental health setting
  Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  Up-to-date mandatory training (PMVA/MAPA or equivalent desirable)
  Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
  Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care
  Ability to remain calm, professional, and confident under pressure
