Job Overview

Assistant Psychologist - Secure Ward, Cygnet Hospital, Stevenage. Full time, Monday through Friday 08:00-16:00, 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Completed a degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
  • Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society
  • Experience in health care and/or an Assistant Psychologist role, preferably in forensic services
  • Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently, safely and ethically within agreed limits
Responsibilities
  • Administer and report psychometric assessments and outcome measures
  • Develop clinical and risk formulations, safety plans
  • Develop and implement care plans for psychological interventions
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group treatment programmes
  • Support the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans
  • Perform administration, audit, research and service development activities
  • Contribute to training and support of staff
Career Development

Access to regular clinical supervision, in person or online training, and the Assistant Psychology Development Programme (APDP). The APDP includes:

Other Information

Successful candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check. The role reports to a qualified psychologist who is also the line manager.
