Job summary
A unique opportunity is now available to work as an assistant psychologist in a well-established multi-disciplinary brain injury team.
The team has a good record in supporting the development of prospective clinical psychologists.
The post holder will have supervision from a clinical psychologist, but will also have the opportunity to work closely with the specialist nurses, family psychotherapist and other members of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical Responsibilities
- To support and enhance the multi-disciplinary care of people with acquired brain injury and their families.

To assist with the delivery of the clinical service by:

Carrying out patient and family assessments and treatments as delegated by senior members of the team

Collecting and recording demographic, clinical assessment, outcome and service utilisation data.

To assist with giving information to patients and families about brain injury and sources of support.
- To help maintain prospective records of Kings patients and families affected by brain injury who have made use of the service. In particular, ensuring good quality, linked demographic, clinical outcome and service utilisation data.

To work effectively with the administrative staff to ensure patients and their families are offered appropriate services in virtual and face to face clinics and support groups. Specifically, this might mean scheduling appointments with patients and families, carrying out clinical screening or triage prior to appointments, following up on management plans, liaising with other clinical staff or other agencies.

To signpost and/or refer patients and their families toexternal agencies, third sector organisations, ensuring appropriate handover of clinical, family systemic and other social information.
- To ensure all data collected for the service is accurate and kept in line with information governance policies.
- To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes.

To participate in the day to day management of any quality improvement projects, service evaluation, research and audit.
- Ensure appropriate inclusion of patients and their families any quality improvement work, for example by involvement in co-design processes and seeking feedback about their experience of the service.

To undertake literature searches as required.

To collect qualitative and quantitative data and undertake preliminary analyses for service improvement purposes. This may include clinical outcome data, individual interviews and focus groups, literature review.
