Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist (AP) to join the Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood Mental Health teams, Specialist Adult service. The AP is an integral part of the MDT and works under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist, offering evidence based individual psychological interventions to patients. The AP role will also be focused on the development and co-facilitation of our developing group and workshop programme and will be involved in service evaluation and audit work.

You will be part of our friendly and supportive East Sussex Psychology professions teams, receiving high quality supervision and continued professional development and support. There is also a Trust-wide AP network offering opportunities for further CPD.

Main duties of the job

You will be a key member of the team and help contribute to the multi-disciplinary team's thinking and care-planning by working closely with psychiatry, nursing, social work and OT colleagues.

The AP will be joining a responsive to the needs of the service and aim to complete tasks with short deadlines.

To gain an understanding of Specialist Adult, Neighbourhood Mental Health settings by assisting the psychology professions in delivering services.

To review casenotes for Team formulation and complex case reviews

To have direct contact with inpatient service users using a simple CBT informed formulation model

To administer psychometric and cognitive testing where appropriate and under supervision.

To contribute to the development and co-facilitation of groups and workshops to include structured clinical management and trauma stabilisation workshops.

To contribute to teaching in staff training events led by Psychological professions

To attend staff meetings, away days, CPD events etc. as appropriate .

To undertake data collection, analysis of findings and the production of the report of audit/evaluation outcomes.

To collate an annual report on the Psychology Service.
