Job summary
Applications are invited for a Clinical / Applied Psychologist or Accredited Psychological Therapist. You will be an integral member of the Mid and North Hampshire Division's psychological therapies team. The post will be based in Basingstoke CMHT. Applicants should have a desire to embrace MDT working, training and team development. This post offers the opportunity to influence best clinical practice and the development of a psychologically informed and recovery focused CMHT.
We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician who has specialist interest and experience in working psychologically with trauma. The post holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy individually and through group programmes as well as offering advice, consultation, reflective practice, clinical formulation and training to staff within the multidisciplinary teams. Evaluation of interventions and the impact of the service in terms of benefit to clients is an important component of what we strive to do. The post holder will require specialist knowledge and experience in the application of at least one psychological therapy (CBT, DBT, CAT).
Main duties of the job
The Mid and North Hampshire Psychological Therapies Team is a thriving active team of psychologists and psychological therapists working within primary care, secondary care, EIP and acute and crisis teams. We are dedicated to delivering superb quality, evidence-based interventions. We pride ourselves on contributing to the development and implementation of innovative interventions. The range of psychologically focused therapies we deliver include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and EMDR. This is a new post, and the post holder will join an established psychological therapies team, with access to high quality supervision and support.
The Trust has strong links with Southampton University, particularly with the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology, the MSc/Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Severe Mental Health Problems and training courses for IAPT. Opportunities for research and development within the post will be actively encouraged. We are keen to support training to increase your therapeutic skills and develop your leadership skills. This will be incorporated within your appraisal and supervision.
