About us

The British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) was formed in 1992 and formed the British Play Therapy movement, accrediting many training courses including to Masters level in association with UK universities.

BAPT is a member-led organisation with charitable status, ensuring its members are trained to a high level, follow professional practice and offer Play Therapy based on our 3 theoretical principles of actualisation, the need for positive regard and that play is a child’s main form of communication.
