<p>We have an exciting opportunities for a&nbsp;<strong>Qualified</strong> and/ or <strong>Trainee Multidisciplinary Advocates</strong> to join our established and friendly Advocacy Team.&nbsp;</p><p>We work for <strong>Rethink Advocacy</strong>, which is part of <strong>Rethink Mental Illness</strong> a national charity that has been transforming the lives of people severely affected by mental illness for over 50 years.</p><p>As an <strong>unqualified, inexperienced</strong> independent multi-disciplinary advocate, you will be required to enrol on the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice qualification and complete the course within a set timescale, using protected study time to focus on this. You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. You will receive training in the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. When providing non-instructed advocacy, you will ensure that the unique preferences and views of the person are taken into consideration in any decisions made by care providers.</p><p>As a <strong>qualified and / or experienced</strong> independent advocate, you will provide statutory and / or non-statutory independent advocacy to those who are eligible for the service within the community or care settings. Lifestyle Support Worker

<p>We are looking for aPeer Support Worker to join our Perinatal inpatient ward - The Beeches Mother and Baby Unit.</p>
<p>The Beeches is a 6 bedded unit, we admit women and birthing people from 32 weeks pregnancy and admit with babies up until the age of one. We work with a range of perinatal mental illness's and support them through their recovery journey. We also work closely with our patients partners and family members to ensure they are supported whilst their loved one is on the ward.</p>
<p>The successful applicant will work as a member of our multi-disciplinary mental health team, which is made up of nurses, nursery nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, a social worker and occupational therapists.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, you will help support our our mums and families on the ward. This will include the running of a peer support group on the ward where you will be able to share your own experience, you will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible, and be able to discuss the difficulties in the perinatal period.</p>
<p>This role has been developed specifically for individuals who have lived experience of accessing Perinatal Mental Health Services.</p>
<p>You will be able to promote peer support within the perinatal service, and contribute to the development of their involvement and participation, in service development.</p>
<p>The role is for 15 hours a week and we are happy to be flexible with what days and hours this is for the successful applicant.</p>

  <p>The role of the Health Support Worker is to deliver high quality community assessment and inpatient care under supervision from qualified colleagues. The post holder will provide therapeutic support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to actively engage in their unique recovery process. The post requires effective liaison with service users, carers, and other professionals and agencies as required. It will involve the provision of direct physical and psychological care, offering therapeutic time to a defined client group working at all times within the principles of recovery. Our Health Support Workers are at the centre of engaging our service users, not just in ward based activity and therapy but also within the local community.</p> <p>The purpose of this post is to provide and support the highest standards of evidence based clinical practice, in all areas of the work of the Crisis Assessment Unit and Police Pathway. This will be achieved directly through clinical practice and participating in clinical support and supervision.</p> <p>The CAU/Police Pathway provide a 24 hour, 7 day service and the post holder will be expected to work shifts that support the provision of patient care. The post-holder will be expected to rotate between the Crisis Assessment Unit and the S136 Suite (incorporating Street Triage) on a shift-by-shift basis. When working within the police pathway, there may be an expectation to be available for timely response to Street Triage calls.</p>

    <h3>Job responsibilities</h3>
    <p>To support service users, as required, by providing an escort to appointments, as directed by qualified staff. This can involve working without immediate supervision of senior staff, for extended periods, while escorting people away from the ward.</p> <p> Involvement in the process of effective risk management including assessment, planning, intervention and on-going monitoring of risk factors.</p> <p> To make onward referrals, both internal and external of the trust including to the AMHPs to notify them of 136 detentions.</p> <p> To carry out tasks relating to an individuals care package under the direction of senior team members such as shift coordinators.</p> <p> To support service users within the community to complete collaborative safety-planning. </p> <p> To work on a 1:1 or in groups with service users facilitating delegated tasks. </p> <p>To independently manage delegated tasks and seek support and supervision when complex situations arise.</p> <p>We recruit people based on their values and qualifications (where required) and believe that their lived experience is an advantage, this means that together we are as diverse as the communities we care for.
