<p>We are looking for a full time Associate Specialist doctor (non-consultant grade) to work in our Medium (MSU) and Low secure (LSU) Forensic Mental Health Services.</p>
<p>Farmfield Hospital is a purpose-built secure hospital which comprises of four MSU ward and two LSU wards for male service users. The hospital is centrally located with excellent transport links to London and Brighton.</p>
<p>Applications are invited for an experienced full-time Associate Specialist doctor to provide medical support to the consultant, and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. Secretarial support is provided.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues and other professionals. Good IT skills are essential.</p>

<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>

    <li>Assessment of service users and formulating appropriate management plans within your level of expertise</li>

    <li>Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist.</li>
    <li>Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant.</li>
    <li>Chairing ward round and CPA meetings in the absence of the Consultant</li>
    <li>Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching.</li>
    <li>Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times.</li>
    <li>Providing prospective cover to other AS doctors when they are on leave.</li>
    <li>There is no on call requirement for this role.</li>

  <p></p><p>An opportunity has arisen for a <strong>Practitioner Psychologist/Specialist Psychological Therapist</strong> to join the <strong>Sussex Eating Disorder Service (</strong>SEDS<strong>)</strong>. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.</p> <p><strong></strong>Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities (including CBT-T, CBT-E and MANTRA). The post will be supervised by a senior psychological therapist within the team.</p> <p>Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area.There may be a requirement to travel across the area dependent on service demand. In the role you will work in partnership with multiple agencies in the community. Peer Support Workers engage with mental health service users to show empathy, share experience, inspire hope and promote recovery with the aim of assisting service users to gain and maintain independence in the community. The Peer Support Worker will assist service users in raising aspirations and developing personal goals, co-produce and co-facilitate groups and increasing individual occupational performance and participation.</p>

  <p></p><p>This small, friendly, multi-disciplinary team is based at Arun House in Worthing town centre, due to move into the Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) in April 2025. The service offers support and treatment to people aged 14 - 65 who have experienced either a first episode of psychosis or present with an At Risk Mental State. Practitioners in the team are passionate about their work, and are committed to supporting families and working in a psychologically informed way.</p> <p>The AAW EIP team is one of 6 Early Intervention in Psychosis teams provided by the Trust. The teams have a single service-wide governance group which oversees and leads on the delivery of care. Organizationally, the teams sit within the Trust's Children and Young People's Services division.</p> <p>You will be provided with individual clinical supervision, group supervision for family interventions and opportunities to link with other Peer Support Workers both within EIP and other services for peer support and development.</p> <p>Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and learning disability services in and across Sussex.   <p></p><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Psychologist, to lead the Long-Term Conditions part of Paediatric Psychological Support Service based at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.</p> <p>The post-holder will be part of a small team of psychologists working with children diagnosed with a range of long-term medical conditions (e.g. inflammatory bowel diseases, juvenile arthritis, epilepsy) living in Brighton and Hove. This role includes close collaboration with another 8a psychologist who leads on working with children with long-term conditions living outside of Brighton and Hove.</p> <p></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>The Long-Term Conditions Service offer short-term therapy, as well as consultation and training to support the needs of children diagnosed with long-term medical conditions. as a service, we draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, systemic, mindfulness, ACT and EMDR. The focus of this role would be to oversee the incoming referrals to the service and responses to these, including holding a clinical caseload and supervising the clinical work of a band 7 psychologist (and at times a trainee clinical psychologist). This role would suit a flexible and dynamic practitioner who is able to develop treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of children, young people and their families, which might include individual, parent-child, parent or group work, as well as close liaison with medical teams and other agencies. There is room for innovation within the service, with previous practitioners offering Tree of Life groups, Woodland Wellbeing days and sea swimming groups to support young people to have a different experience of themselves and build their confidence. Opportunities to develop appropriate staff training and group work is also supported where this meets a clinical need. The post-holder would be encouraged to supervise or co-supervise a trainee clinical psychologist.</p>
