   <p>The adult acute Speech and Language Therapy service at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is excited to recruit a band 6 specialist into our service. We have recently undergone large scale transformational change following our move into the state of the art Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in 2024 and wish to welcome an additional team member into our hospital service.</p>  <p>Our inpatient Speech and Language Therapy team are a welcoming and aspirational group of therapists with a clear vision and strong commitment to improving the lives of local people. We have a strong focus upon delivering patient-centred care and embedding 'what matters to you' care principles into all of our work.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
   <p>We are looking for an individual who is able to work independently with a range of communication and swallowing presentations and can use highly developed interpersonal skills to establish strong relationships with a range of individuals and MDTs.</p> <p>We offer three band 6 acute hospital rotations at MMUH. Successful candidates will experience all rotations within each annual appraisal cycle; allowing for broad based experiences whilst developing more advanced clinical skills. Our core rotations are in medicine and frailty, ICU/surgery/respiratory and front door emergency care.</p> <p>Our team is committed to supporting each individual team member's training and development and we ask for candidates who are equally motivated to then support others; mentoring SLT staff and other support staff within the service as well as helping us to grow our student placement provision.</p> <p>Our service works over 7 days a week and post holders are required to engage in our weekend working hospital roster.</p> <p>You will be required to:</p> <p>To independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of disorders ofcommunication and swallowing as part of the medical and surgical inpatient, acute SLT service.</p> <p>To work independently with patients with often sensitive and complex presentations, actively seeking support and supervision as required.</p> <p>Development skills in instrumental assessment procedures such as; endoscopic examination of swallowing (FEES) or videofluoroscopy(VFS)</p>

  <p>The Tamarind Centre is seeking a fixed term maternity cover for an 8B Practitioner Psychologist to join its psychology department. This is a strong developmental opportunity, ideal for an experienced 8A looking to progress or an 8B psychologist curious about moving into forensic work.</p> <p>The post sits within our personality focused recovery service, a specialist ward for men with complex histories of violence, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. We are looking for someone with experience delivering therapeutic work to individuals, groups, and across systems. While expertise in MBT, DBT, or forensic psychodynamic psychotherapy is welcomed, it is not essential. An interest in adapting therapies for men at high risk of violence is especially valued.</p> <p>Tamarind is an 89 bed medium secure unit supporting men with enduring mental health needs and histories of violence. Our psychology team values openness, authenticity, and psychological safety. We prioritise cohesion over conformity and invite you to help us grow. Our work lives in the balance between care and containment, acknowledging trauma and structural inequality while avoiding binary thinking. Evidence based practice is essential, but we aim to adapt it compassionately and meaningfully.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Beyond therapy, we are committed to co-production and service user involvement. Recent work includes culturally informed mental health groups, co-designed trauma training, and projects with carers to hold the service accountable. As Principal Psychologist, you will help lead this work, shaping trauma informed care as a cultural shift across the unit and wider Division. Leadership here is seen not as a title but as a shared, evolving process. Support comes from colleagues across disciplines, including community partners.</p>

  <p><strong>Therapy Support Worker, Band 3 (35 hours a week)</strong></p>
<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, conscientious, caring and motivated Therapy Support Worker to join our friendly Neurology therapy team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.</p>
<p>The successful applicant will join our experienced integrated therapy team, working alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support workers and the wider multidisciplinary team. The Therapy Team play a fundamental role in person-centred care as well as safe and effective discharge planning.</p>
<p>We are looking for an individual who is motivated, enthusiastic and flexible in all areas of care and their approach to work. The ability to work well with all members of the multi- disciplinary team is essential. You will need to have excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude, compassionate, and be able to work as part of a team. Being able to motivate and encourage patients in an active way to regain and maintain their independence is important.</p>
<p>As a Therapy Department we pride ourselves on developing staff with a dedicated Research and Development team. We also have a well-established and dedicated Peer Support group in all disciplines.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To work as an integral member of the therapy team using the principles of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in an integrated and client-centred way. The post holder will implement assessments and treatment plans to promote independence .</p>
<p>To implement and progress delegated treatment programmes using clinical reasoning skills to include the teaching of patients on functional exercise, the issuing and fitting of equipment and the practice of activities of daily living. It will also include assessing patients in the safe use of mobility aids, such as safety on the stairs and personal care.</p>
<p>To participate in the weekend working rota where applicable.</p>
<p>To undertake administrative and housekeeping tasks to support the Therapy team and ensure the ongoing care and rehabilitation of the patient. To include making accurate and legible entries in the therapy and multidisciplinary patient records.</p>
