We’re here for men who have recently been through a mental health crisis—whether they’ve just left hospital or are finding it difficult to stay safe where they currently live. Our house offers a calm, safe environment where residents can take time to stabilise and focus on their wellbeing. We provide therapeutic support to help each person feel ready and confident to return home. Stays are usually up to 10 days, although men who are of no fixed abode (NFA) may stay a little longer if needed.</p><ul>	<li>We’re a non-CQC registered service.</li>	<li>Our team is here day and night, 24/7, every day of the year.</li>	<li>The service is run by Rethink Mental Illness, working closely with AWP, who handle all referrals through their Crisis Teams.</li></ul><p><strong>How you will make a difference:</strong></p><p><strong>Staffing, Leadership &amp; Oversight</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will ensure that staff have the correct guidance and support to fulfil their roles and will ensure that a monthly 24/7 rota ensures enough staffing capacity to deliver effective support.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality of Support &amp; Environment</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will ensure that a high standard of support is embedded within the service and will promote and support an inclusive environment.</li>	<li>I will ensure that high quality support planning, risk management, outcomes measurements are in place for all residents in the service at all times.</li></ul><p><strong>Referrals &amp; Risk Management</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will review all referrals into the service and ensure these are appropriate for the service remit and that risks are manageable during the residents stay. <h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) service is an exciting initiative in the Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) commissioning area. It is part of the Government's response to the 2017 Green Paper to increase access to mental health support by delivering evidence-based early interventions in educational settings for children and young people (CYP) presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.</p> <p>The post holder will work as an autonomous and responsible EMHP while also offering supervision within the scope of the MHST initiative.</p> <p>The post holder will work in partnership with schools to deliver a range of mental health interventions within school settings. This may involve group work or direct work with children and young people, as well as offering mental health-based consultation and advice to teaching staff.</p> <p>The post holder will ensure the effective coordination of clinical care provided within schools, including consideration of safeguarding and clinical risk issues where indicated.</p> <p>The post holder will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision and caseload management to trainee and qualified EMHPs.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for clinical skills supervision and caseload management supervision of EMHPs within the MHST.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>Therapeutic Assessment and Intervention:</strong></p>
<p>Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working at all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting inwhich the post-holder is working.</p>
<p>Facilitate fair access to services and promote social inclusion regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or disability.</p>
<p><strong>Supervision:</strong></p>
<p>Deliver clinical supervision to supervisee's on a scheduled basis to ensure safe practice and the governance obligations of the MHST service are adhered to.</p>
<p><strong>Effort and Health &amp; Safety Factors:</strong></p>
<p>Working with service users in distress and who on occasion may have used coping strategies such as self-harm, or present as hostile, confused and have difficulty communicating and as a result may pose risks to themselves or the safety of others.</p>
<p>Frequent driving and working across multiple sites to deliver interventions and attend to administrative tasks. There is an expectation to work mainly out of allocated schools but the post holder must be prepared to attend satellite sites, our main office and some home working.</p>

  <p>You will provide specialist assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation, alongside staff training, supervision, consultation, advice and support to the South Bristol Recovery team. You will also provide clinical and/or management supervision to more junior CPI staff, placements to Clinical/Counselling Psychology trainees and engage in service development work as appropriate.</p> <p>To work within the Assessment &amp; Recovery Services, it is essential for you to have experience of delivering therapy to this client group, and to have been trained in NICE guideline interventions (e.g. DBT, CBT, Family Interventions, CAT, MBT etc). You will need excellent interpersonal skills to support the development of psychological thinking and intervention within multidisciplinary teams. Experience of delivering supervision and training would be essential.</p> <p>We would be especially interested in candidates with experience of supervision and management of Complex Trauma within secondary settings.</p> <p>We also plan this post to include the CPI Service User Involvement lead role. <p>The Counsellor is part of the Allied Health Professionals Team at the Marie Curie Hospice, providing specialist counselling and bereavement support to patients, carers, and families as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.</p>

  <p>The role involves delivering flexible, high-quality emotional support, collaborating closely with colleagues and external agencies, and ensuring best practice in line with Marie Curie's Emotional Support Policy.The Counsellor also contributes to team meetings, care planning, and service improvement, helping to create a supportive environment for those facing loss and end-of-life care.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Working in partnership with the team, the postholder will ensure that excellent clinical standards are maintained.</p> <p>Effective caseload management will be supported by robust and efficient individual and team supervision processes. Always working within the overarching legal framework, the postholder will demonstrate effective clinical practice in their day-to-day work.</p> <p><strong>NOTE:</strong> This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP Trust policy, all newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) will initially be recruited at Band 5 level, regardless of the advertised role banding. All NQSWs are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within two years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances, in which case it may be extended for a further two years.If you have been appointed to an advertised Band 6 role, this will result in automatic progression following confirmation of your successful ASYE completion.
