This specialist provision delivers intensive, evidence-based care to children &amp; young people experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. This innovative service aims to bridge the gap between inpatient and community care, offering a safe and structured alternative to Tier 4 admission &amp; facilitating earlier discharge from hospital settings. Operating through a MDT working collaboratively to provide holistic, person-centred care, each professional brings their expertise to support physical health monitoring, nutritional rehabilitation, psychosocial interventions &amp; occupational engagement, all tailored to the unique needs of each young person &amp; their family. <ul> <li>In-reach and Outreach support to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions &amp; reduce relapse.</li> <li>Intensive day hospital interventions focused on recovery, risk management, &amp; re-engagement with daily life.</li> <li>Meal support and psychoeducation for young people &amp; their families, promoting sustainable recovery at home.</li> <li>Multidisciplinary care planning and supervision, ensuring continuity &amp; quality of care across settings.</li> <li>Training and consultation to professionals and carers, enhancing system-wide understanding and support for eating disorders. </li> </ul> 



 <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
 <ul> <li>To provide specialist occupational therapy service to children &amp; young people with eating disorders.</li> <li>To undertake comprehensive assessments of each patients needs to formulate individualised management &amp; treatment plans.</li> <li>To provide specialist advice to patients with eating disorders deemed to be a high physical risk. To be aware of &amp; be able to identify patients at high physical risks, including the risk of refeeding syndrome &amp; provide appropriate nutritional advice regarding the management of risk together with liaison with the MDT regarding the management of risk in these patients, linking with medical and dietetic colleagues in the other Eating Disorders teams &amp; with acute medical services as necessary.</li> <li>Deliver a range of non-pharmacological interventions following specific Occupational Therapy assessments to enable understanding of any expression of an unmet need &amp; to maximise an individual's abilities.</li> <li>Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments &amp; risk management plans.</li> <li>Utilise agreed outcome measures as part of the care planning &amp; evaluation process.</li> </ul>
