<p>We are looking for a full time Associate Specialist doctor (non-consultant grade) to work in our Medium (MSU) and Low secure (LSU) Forensic Mental Health Services.</p>
<p>Farmfield Hospital is a purpose-built secure hospital which comprises of four MSU ward and two LSU wards for male service users. The hospital is centrally located with excellent transport links to London and Brighton.</p>
<p>Applications are invited for an experienced full-time Associate Specialist doctor to provide medical support to the consultant, and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. Secretarial support is provided.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues and other professionals. Good IT skills are essential.</p>

The ATS is a friendly, well regarded multidisciplinary team that delivers specialist support and clinical interventions to adults with severe and complex mental health difficulties. This post provides an exciting opportunity for someone with sound clinical experience, looking to develop and broaden their specialist therapy skills and progress their multidisciplinary team working, supervision, training and leadership roles. The post will offer the opportunity for developing skills in partnership working as we move towards developing our Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams and increase access to psychologically informed interventions as part of community transformation and PT-SMHP developments.</p>

  <p>The post holder will provide a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers, where there are complex and comorbid presentations.   <p>We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate your commitment to providing high quality care and counselling for depression at Step 3. You will be delivering counselling for depression using a stepped care model in line with the national IAPT programme and latest NICE guidance for psychological interventions. The role involves delivering one to one Counselling, Assessments and therapeutic groups.</p>
<p>You must demonstrate a commitment to Continuing Professional Development and be prepared to attend training in the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CFD) IAPT training at Metanoia with a desirable commitment to Mind Matters of 1.5 years post training completion/award of qualification (not just attending the course).</p>
<p>Developmental Plan:</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To provide a comprehensive assessment and therapeutic service for adult patients with common mental health problems referred to the IAPT SABP service based on sound, evidence based psychological principles, and working within the context of primary care services.</p>
<p>You will be able to assess clients for suitability for Counselling and other modalities, and provide specialist psychological treatment based upon clearly accepted, evidence-based principles (N.I.C.E. guidelines for Depression). To treat common mental health problems, including mood and adjustment disorders and other problems not of a severity requiring multidisciplinary specialist mental health services.</p>
<p>Be able to make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary. To make an assessment of risk for patient and others and take appropriate action when necessary.</p>
