  <p>An exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker has arisen in the Merthyr and Cynon LPMHSS . We are looking for a reliable, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team.</p> <p>The applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative.</p> <p>The post holder will deliver psychologically informed interventions and education both 1:1 and in groups to those aged 17 and above and will support individuals throughout a prescribed structured intervention after they have been assessed in LPMHSS including educating individuals on skills that will help them to manage their own mental health.</p> <p>The post holder will have a reasonable understanding of a range of psycho education and psychological interventions drawn from the principals of CBT, CFT, BSFT, DBT and computer based CBT.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p> Working within the legislative framework of Part One of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure, to improve access to mental health support at a primary care level for people with mild to moderate or severe but stable needs. </p> <p> The post holder will provide support and guidance to people suffering with mental illness and or distress, having an understanding of the impact of mental illness on the individual and their family/carers. </p> <p> The post holder will provide support to an allocated group of patients with a range of mild to moderate mental health care needs and assist their recovery and help them maintain their own community networks.</p>

  <p></p><p>We currently have an opportunity for
a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist at our forensic mental health hospital, Heatherwood
Court. Comprising of a Locked Rehabilitation Service (1 female ward) and a Low
Secure Service (1 male and 2 female wards), Heatherwood Court treats patients with
complex needs, including severe and enduring mental illness, complex trauma,
and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. </p><p>We are looking for applicants with
experience of working with service users with complex needs and risk behaviours
along with those who have an interest and prior experience of delivering
evidenced-based interventions for people with personality disorder and/or
complex mental health problems. We are particularly interested in candidates
who have received DBT training, but would offer training to suitable candidates
on appointment.</p><p>This post will join an established, dynamic
team of psychologists including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, , Forensic Psychologist and
Assistant Psychologists, working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary
team. The team are also supported by Positive Practice Workers, graduate
psychologists in blended role combining both support worker shifts and clinical
days with the teams. There are also regular opportunities to network with the
wider Iris Care Group qualified psychologists within Departmental Meetings and Psychology

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
</ul>

<p>Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families,&nbsp;teachers&nbsp;and school staff. The charity currently provides an embedded mental health service in 500 UK primary and secondary schools supporting a school community of around 243,000 children and young people.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.&nbsp; Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the comprehensive CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) system.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>

Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.</p>
<p>We continue to pilot,&nbsp;trial&nbsp;and explore new ways in which we can develop our practice as well as share learning, expertise and findings from the robust evidence and evaluation we gather.&nbsp;<strong>HRH The&nbsp;Princess of Wales</strong>&nbsp;is our Royal Patron and Place2Be is one of the founding charity partners of Heads Together.
