Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - Early Intervention Service

  <p>The post could be offered as a 30 hours per week or Job share depending on applicants and we may be able to offer full time hours for the right candidate.</p> <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic highly skilled and experienced practitioner psychologist to join our mental health services focusing on working with adults with psychosis. This is an exciting time to be joining the Trust as we are looking at improving our services for people experiencing psychosis and bipolar disorder and expanding the psychological provision in our teams.</p> <p>Working across a number of community teams you will provide expertise in both direct clinical work and leadership/supervision of teams in psychological approaches to care.</p> <p>This is a key clinical leadership role, working within teams and responsible for continuing to drive and embed the significant work already undertaken to develop services for people with psychosis across Gloucestershire.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for providing highly-specialist advice and consultancy to staff, teams, and patients with direct responsibility for the provision of psychological services within the teams, including supervision of assistants and trainees. They will also have a key role to play in service development and quality improvement across care pathways.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This role covers teams based in Gloucester, Cheltenham and across the county. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered, but the post holder will be expected to work across sites in line with service need.</p> <p>Our specialist mental health services work with adults with severe mental health problems. About 60% of the people we work with have experienced psychosis, and we aim to provide psychologically and trauma informed care and evidence based interventions including CBT-P and Family Therapy.</p> <p>In this role you will:</p> <p>Work as part of MDT's providing specialist psychological formulation, assessment and direct care.</p> <p>Provide supervision, reflective practice and consultation/advice to colleagues and teams,</p> <p>Contribute to quality improvement and service development, including research and development activities such as teaching.</p> <p>Leading workstreams on psychological approaches to care, and specifically working as a part of our developing psychosis pathways</p> <p>Line manage, supervise and support other psychological professionals, assistants and trainees.</p> <p><strong>The qualification, training &amp; experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.</strong></p>

  <p>A rare and exciting vacancy has arisen for a passionate and highly motivated band 7/8a Practitioner Psychologist to join our Secure CAMHS team.</p> <p>The Secure CAMHS (SCAMHS) service sits within the Ardenleigh site and offers treatment for up to 11 young people, across two wards. It has received accreditations from QNIC and the National Autistic Society and a quality review in June 2024 highlighted strengths in a positive team culture, great relationships between young people and staff and comprehensive therapeutic provision. </p> <p>The young people we work with have often experienced significant difficulties in their lives and presentations include trauma, mental illness, personality difficulties, neurodevelopment difficulties and harm to self and/or others. As a team psychologist, you will work alongside a range of professionals, providing safe, containing environments and interventions to help the young people understand themselves, their mental health and offending behaviour. Within the role you will have opportunities to provide individual and group interventions, supervision and management of others, and be involved in training, service development, audit and evaluation.</p>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work in the Hull Children in Care Team.  We are seeking to employ a qualified clinical or counselling psychologist who has experience in the assessment, formulation and therapy of children and young people with histories of trauma. We would encourage clinical/counselling psychologists who are wanting to progress to 8a to apply for the post. The Clinical Psychologist will join a committed LAC Service within Hull CLA CAMHS consisting of dramatherapy, art therapy, social worker and clinical psychologists.</p>
<p>This is an exciting time to be joining the service due to the transformational work with the vision of becoming trauma informed and developing the AMBIT framework work across CAMHS pathways.</p>
<p>Progression from band 7 to band 8a is subject to the post holder being able to evidence that they have met all criteria required for the role. It is expected that in order for the post holder to progress that they would have successfully completed the ISW training, have had experience supervising trainee psychologists and other professionals; have received post qualification training in an area relevant to this role, have led on consultations and are able to work with increasingly complex presentations (as available within the role). Senior Clinical Psychologist

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>To provide a high-quality, specialist clinical psychology service to older adults admitted to the inpatient mental health ward. The postholder will deliver psychological assessment, formulation, interventions and group therapy for individuals experiencing complex mental health difficulties, cognitive decline, and/or dementia-related conditions. They will also contribute to staff training, supervision, and service development, supporting the ward in delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care.</p>

  <p>Clinical :</p>

<li>Provide specialist psychological assessments using a range of psychometric, neuropsychological, and observational tools.</li>

There are six specialist services on the Brooklands Hospital site, providing inpatient assessment and treatment services to adults (men and women) and young people with an Intellectual Disability. This includes both secure and non-secure services. </p> <p>Your role will be to provide support to the qualified Clinical team in delivering a high quality psychology service within some of the inpatient services, working in a multi-disciplinary team and engaging with young people and adults with complex needs and who can display a range of behavioural challenge. These are busy professional roles in which energy, initiative and reflective practice are vital.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder would be joining a dynamic team with a range of clinical interests and expertise in a variety of therapeutic models including DBT, Compassion Focussed, EMDR and Narrative approaches.</p> <p>Positive Behavioural Support is a major part of our treatment philosophy and the service ethos is to ensure that effective, evidence based interventions are provided to people who can present considerable risk, to ensure that they can return to a less restrictive environment in the community as soon as possible.</p> <p>All members of the team receive excellent support, good quality supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development. There are good links with psychological services staff across the Trust, developing Special Interest Groups across speciality and an annual conference. The Psychological services team also has strong links with local clinical and forensic training courses, and regularly provides placements for trainee clinical and forensic psychologists, supervision for DClinPsy and DForPsy research, and teaching on the courses.</p> <p>Candidates with experience of working within a range of clinical settings including CAMHS, Forensic, Mental Health, Social Care and Learning Disabilities are welcomed.     <h3>Job responsibilities</h3>
    <p>The Clinical Associate Psychologist is a key role within both the psychology team and the wider Camden Core Mental Health team.</p>
<p>Key duties include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Assessment and formulation for service users referred to Camden Core Mental Health team, under supervision from the wider Psychology team.</li>
<li>Brief interventions for complex presentations above the threshold for Camden Talking Therapies but below threshold for secondary care.</li>
<li>Individual interventions delivering Structured Clinical Management-informed interventions including problem-solving and skills focused work.</li>
<li>Group interventions: psychoeducation and skills workshops.</li>
<li>Working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.</li>
<li>Working with diversity and a range of clinical presentations.</li>
<li>Opportunities for service development, research projects and audit of interventions.</li>
<li>Interdisciplinary and inter-agency working (e.g. with recovery college)</li>
</ul>
