We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability.&nbsp; We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis.
As the Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will be:
<ul>
 <li>Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.</li>
 <li>Attending regular clinical and service development meetings, such as MDT’s, CPA’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings</li>
 <li>An integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team on Male LD MSU</li>

What you will need:

 <li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area.</li>

 <li>Competency as regards risk assessment/management tools and formulation.</li>

Part-Time Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist

Working as part of a transdisciplinary team, you will provide formulation-led, person-centred care in our Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation service which provides care and treatment for adult males and females with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour.
Supervising an Assistant Psychologist and working closely with clinicians from a range of disciplines, your specialist input will be key in achieving good patient outcomes. With the support of the team, you will administer neuropsychological and psychometric assessments that support the formulation of behavioural interventions seeking to manage challenging behaviour and enhance rehabilitation.
You will support therapeutic sessions by engaging in induvial and groupwork sessions, where appropriate, alongside other members of the team, and will assist in clinically relevant administrative duties, including developing and conducting audits, analysing and interpreting behavioural data, and developing and delivering staff training. In addition, you will join the senior management team and input into clinical governance, ensuring that the psychologically led model is both evaluated and effective. There are also opportunities to conduct research within the service.
You will be provided with supervision and support from the Clinical Directors and will be able to access a range of training opportunities to help both you and the service flourish.

You will be leading the psychology department and working alongside members of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT), to offer patient-centred care, implementing daily, meaningful activities which can support recovery.
