Assistant Psychologist - Practitioner Positive Behavioural Support Location: South Region Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £31,827 per annum Car Allowance £3700.00 PA Job Role: This Job description gives an outline of the post and is subject to review in consultation with the post holder. You will be working as part of the Therapy Team you will provide guidance, active support, plans and coaching to the teams across division supporting individuals with behaviour that challenges and supporting individuals who are impacted by a learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury and/ or other mental health challenges. You will be responsible for the implementation of PBS strategies that will improve the quality of life and service user's well-being and working with our support teams, to reduce restrictive interventions. Plan, write up and develop positive behaviour support plans which are personalised and meet the needs of those we support as well as enhance their choice &amp; independence. Leading by example, you will demonstrate strong influencing and communication skills, and will create a culture that encourages openness and transparency where the staff and service users feel fully engaged, and are empowered to innovate and improve services. You will be expected to model the values of the organisation, in all that you do. To provide psychology input under qualified psychologist and trainee psychologist supervision to the Care Team and service users; providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment in the limits of professional competency and experience under qualified psychologist supervision. To work under supervision within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Department's policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Department at the qualified requests. Main duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>To support organisational change within a district to enhance the learning and development of children and young people through the application of applied psychology.</li><li>To actively promote inclusion through provision of a consultation based educational psychology service to schools and other agencies.</li><li>To undertake direct work with schools as required.</li><li>To provide statutory advice in line with the regulations set out in the 2014 Children and Families Act and the SEND Code of Practice according to relevant timescales. This may include appropriate contributions and presentations to support tribunal procedures.</li></ul>Qualifications and experience required<ul><li>Qualified status approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) in Educational and Child Psychology or equivalent, including Graduate Basis for Registration and recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational and Child Psychology or equivalent. All appointees will be required to be registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).</li><li>The qualifications detailed above must be met and have either previous experience as an educational psychologist or be completing a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational and Child Psychology or equivalent in order to qualify as an educational psychologist and gain registration with the HCPC.</li></ul>Flexible in terms of how many assessments Locum Educational Psychologists can undertake monthly. Can be fully remote if you want to take on remote assessments or do hybrid if want to take on face to face assessments.
