<p>You&nbsp;will provide a clinical service of specialist psychology assessments and interventions to a number of adult service users with&nbsp;acute mental health needs&nbsp;on the ward. You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care.</p>
<p>Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.</p>

<p><strong>As a Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>
    <li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li>
    <li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li>
    <li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li>
    <li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li>
    <li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li>
    <li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li>
    <li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li>
    <li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li>
    <li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li>
    <li>Facilitating ‘reflective practice’ sessions for the ward-based staff as agreed within the psychological therapies team and in discussion with wider MDT.&nbsp;Please note that the reflective practice sessions take place at 7:30am and 7:30pm to cover day and night ward-based staff. There is flexibility in the working arrangements to accommodate these working patterns.</li>

  <p>The NHS Talking Therapies Service covering South West Hertfordshire, including Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere boroughs, is looking to employ a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The role, working closely with the PWPs they supervise, plays a central role in ensuring our service is of the best quality, with the best outcomes for our service users.</p>
<p>Hertfordshire was one of the original 11 Pathfinder sites for the development of Talking Therapies Services, commencing in 2007/8 and has since developed through 1st and 2nd wave expansion sites to provide a well -resourced and innovative Talking Therapies service across the whole of the county. Our Trust has been awarded 'Outstanding' status by the Care quality Commission and our Talking Therapies Service is APPS accredited.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The key part of this role will be to provide clinical supervision, professional support and development for PWPs within the service. The Senior PWP will work alongside the team's Clinical and Operational Leadership to maintain quality, stability, safety and clinical efficacy. There will be opportunities for ongoing professional development as well as the chance to contribute to further service development.You will be an experienced PWP with at least 1 year post qualification experience as a PWP, more if you have been part time over that period, and with a recognised Talking Therapies qualification in Step 2 intervention and will be registered or working towards PWP accreditation with the BABCP or BPS. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced PWP to lead in the further development of the PWP role promoting professionalism and cohesion with a wonderfully diverse team of PWPs working in a hybrid or blended style. The job spec gives detailed information regarding the job requirements in terms of hours and skills.</strong></p> <p><strong>As a Psychologist you will be:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li><li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li><li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li><li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li><li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li><li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li><li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li><li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li><li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li><li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li><li>Facilitating 'reflective practice' sessions for the ward-based staff as agreed within the psychological therapies team and in discussion with wider MDT. Please note that the reflective practice sessions take place at 7:30am and 7:30pm to cover day and night ward-based staff.
