<p>Mulberry Court (18 beds) specialist high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness, who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act.</p>

  <p>This post sits within the Children and Young Peoples Learning Disability Service within Mindworks at Surrey and Borders. The Children's LD Service is a Surrey County Wide Service, with 4 bases: Redhill Leatherhead Chertsey and Godalming. <p>The service is a friendly welcoming and supportive Team, made up of Nurses Psychology Music Therapy and Psychiatry along with Admin colleagues. There is a monthly Business Meeting and twice monthly clinical issues meeting, with a quarterly LD Forum.</p>
<p>The post holder will hold a case load of young people and provide appropriate interventions / support. This will include working with the family/ carers and wider MDT to ensure a consistency of approach. The post holder will also provide regular supervision to the AP based in the geographical area. They will be supported by the Clinical Psychologist in their development. Alongside regular supervision and appraisal with an identified development plan. The post holder will also contribute to the service ASD Pathway and any other pathways that are appropriate.</p>

  <p>Psychologists are integral and valued key members of the Mental Health Care of Older People's multidisciplinary teams (MHCOP) in each borough across East London. Within and across the service, in line with National Guidance, the post holder will be responsible and accountable for the provision of high quality, person-centred and culturally sensitive psychological services to older adults presenting to the service, their families and carers. Our goal is to alleviate psychological distress and promote psychological well-being, working alongside our multi-disciplinary team colleagues in the community and liaison into the centralised wards, where required through consultation, teaching and training.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will be an active member of City and Hackney's Mental Health Care of Older Adult's service including the centralised MHCOP inpatient wards and wider East London MHCOP Psychology and Arts therapies professional group.</p> <p>They will work closely with psychologists and other professionals in the team maintaining a standardised approach to the assessment and care of Service Users with complex needs across community and inpatient settings. As part of this, they will contribute to the provision of a specialist psychological perspective for the work of the team, providing highly specialist psychological advice and consultation to other members of the team as well as consultation into the borough's residential and nursing homes.</p> <p>They will be responsible and accountable for the systematic provision of a highly specialist psychology service for people with severe, complex and enduring mental health and dementia related difficulties and their families, presenting to the service and across community and, where appropriate, acute physical health and psychiatric settings.</p> <p>They will develop working partnerships with other members of psychology services locally and across East London boroughs, relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, locality services and providers/commissioners as appropriate</p>   <h3>About us</h3>

Cygnet Lodge Woking, our sister hospital close by, provides a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men and extends our care pathway.</p> <p><strong>Your Day-to-Day </strong></p> <ul> <li>You'll be working 36 hours a week </li><li>Opportunity to work on our Male land Female low secure ward</li><li>Work as a team Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)</li><li>Carry out psychological assessments &amp; provide therapy to individuals &amp; groups</li><li>Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT</li><li>Provide training &amp; supervision to colleagues, &amp; consultation to teams </li><li>Evaluate the service, contribute to its development &amp; carry out clinical research</li><li>Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications.</li></ul> <p><strong>We are looking for someone who is </strong></p> <ul> <li>A HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting</li><li>Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical and DBT </li><li>Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs</li><li>Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical &amp; verbal aggression, history of sexual offending and drug &amp; alcohol problems.</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Cygnet?
