  <p>The successful applicant will be joining the service during an exciting period of service development and transformation. They will receive clinical supervision from a senior Psychologist (with BABCP Accreditation if required) and will work closely with AEDS psychological therapies team.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for providing or contributing to the clinical supervision of Trainee Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists; this is, with support and, where applicable, training to assist in the development of these supervision skills.</p> <p>The post holder will be expected to carry out comprehensive assessments and formulations and plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of their psychological interventions (individual and group). They will additionally be required to contribute to the work and functioning of the multi-disciplinary team, where appropriate.</p>

<p>The post offers a diverse range of experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in the locality and there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills through CPD. The trust has an enviable care pathways system which values Psychology, Psychotherapy and the Arts Psychotherapies. There are opportunities to train in DBT, CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders and structured clinical management.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>Variety:</strong> You will have the chance to work with a wide range of complex presentations including affective disorders, psychosis, and personality, and using a variety of methods and approaches. With assessments, individual therapies, group therapies, family interventions, MDT working, complex case meetings, indirect interventions using a Positive Behaviour Support framework, and supervision all part of the role, it's safe to say that no two days will feel the same! Many of our Psychologists in acute services find that the switching really helps to stay energised.</p>
<p><strong>Fast-paced:</strong> You will get to be reflexive; formulating problems, identifying with teams when attempted solutions create a new or different problem, and supporting teams to remove barriers to discharge and supporting people to have an independent and personally meaningful life outside of hospital. <h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>Mind Matters Surrey Talking Therapies NHS are looking to recruit full time Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners</p>
<p>The post will be a blend of in person and remote working. The post-holder will be required to work up to two days per week in Epsom or Leatherhead ) and remotely the remainder of the week. There are opportunities to work with people in face to face clinics and across teams and telephone.</p>
<p>Successful applicants with sufficient post qualifying experience will be given the opportunity for further development in Long Term Conditions Training, Supervision Training and a variety of Champion and lead roles across the Step 2 Team. Newly qualified candidates can join our new preceptorship programme where we support and develop our newly qualified staff, gently easing them into their qualified roles.</p>
<p>All PWPs provide assessments and deliver high volume, low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy guided self-help interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. In addition, all PWPs are trained to offer silver cloud assisted therapy treatment sessions and deliver a specialist group each week.</p>

  <p>As a PWP, your main duties will be to conduct assessments with people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, identifying areas for change, and identifying what the most appropriate treatment pathways would be.</p>
<p>This might include making referrals to other services, or offering treatments within Mind Matters.</p>
<p>You will also be providing low intensity CBT interventions to individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, promoting self-management of their own recovery.</p>

<p>What you will be doing Reporting to the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of delivering strategic and clinical strategies to grow and further develop the care pathway through specialist psychological advice and consultations. You will lead and oversee the specialised psychological programme and the transdisciplinary team where you will provide supervision and training to your peers to ensure they understand the concepts and principles underpinning the framework and the specialised skills required to work successfully within this service model. You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a designated caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within mental health care services.</p>

<p><strong>As a Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.</li>
    <li>Attending regular clinical and service development meetings, such as MDT’s, CPA’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings</li>
    <li>An integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team on the two PICU’s</li>
    <li>Providing both long &amp; short-term work, which includes being able to undertake clinical assessments to determine clinical needs &amp; treatment plans.</li>
    <li>Providing both individual and group work to the patients.</li>
    <li>Maintaining monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision</li>
    <li>Providing clinical supervision to nursing staff/therapy staff as appropriate and facilitating in the provision of reflective practice.</li>
    <li>Providing both written &amp; verbal contributions to MDT &amp; CPA process</li>
    <li>Supporting the MDT in the development and review of care plans</li>
    <li>Offering specialist clinical advice including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care within the service</li>
    <li>Contributing to professional development within the team</li>
    <li>Contributing to teaching as part of Induction/mandatory training.</li>
    <li>Contributing to audit and research as directed by the line manager</li>

<p><strong>To be successful in this role, you'll need:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>BPS accredited and HCPC approved Doctorate.</li>
    <li>Have HCPC Registration.</li>
    <li>Chartered Member of the BPS.</li>
    <li>Evidence of engagement in mental health networks.</li>
    <li>Post-doctoral level knowledge and application of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis.</li>
    <li>Experience in using psychological models and theories to address a range of risk and behavioural issues.</li>

<p>Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET</p>
<p>Thornford Park Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is an independent 143 bedded hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire (close to the Hampshire borders).</p>
<p>We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. Our service users, many of whom have forensic histories, require long-term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple problems, challenging and high-risk behaviour and complex care needs. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability. We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis</p>
