  <p>Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists are employed on one year fixed term training contract, involving a clinical placement where you will manage a high volume caseload alongside undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip CBT) where you will be required to meet frequent academic deadlines.</p> <p>This is a 12-month training contract, upon successful completion of the course a permanent post will be available. Successful candidates should be available to begin the role in approximately mid-January 2026, exact date to be confirmed.</p> <p>The role requires hybrid working, including both working from home and from either our base in Shrewsbury (Severn Fields Health Village) or Telford (Hall Court), as well as travel within the Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin locality per service need.</p> <p>Training posts available on condition of receiving confirmation of funding - please be aware therefore that number of spaces may change. At the point of academic screening and interview, we will have received funding confirmation and can confirm the number of available posts.</p> <p><strong>All shortlisted applicants must be available to attend a half-day academic screening in September - TBC by the university. Only those who pass the academic screening will be offered a joint interview with the University and MPFT.</strong><strong>By</strong><strong>submitting an application you are consenting for information to be shared between the service and university.</strong></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The training post includes two days per week at University and three days of supervised clinical practice within the Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies service. Trainees are expected to progress to working with a high degree of autonomy, with high volume caseloads including video and face-to-face clinical work. In addition to clinical contact, the role will include data collection, data management, analysis and note keeping.</p> <p>We are a busy caring team consisting of Admin staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners &amp; Relational Therapists. We serve the people of Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin which has exciting, diverse &amp; growing modern towns, surrounded by stunning Shropshire countryside.</p> <p>NHS Talking Therapies teams are great places to work.
