This permanent Consultant Psychiatrist position (37.5 hours per week) will see you join the established multidisciplinary team at Spring Wood Lodge. The service has 21 beds across two wards in a locked rehabilitation setting providing treatment for women with mental disorders including personality disorders. The wards are well supported by a full complement of multidisciplinary team.&nbsp;
You will act as a Consultant / Responsible Clinician for patients in this setting. You will have CCT in General Adult or Forensic psychiatry and experience of working with and leading multidisciplinary teams.&nbsp; You will be part of an environment that specialises in providing rehabilitation utilising positive behavioural support principles and empowering service users in their recovery.&nbsp;
Spring Wood Lodge is located in the outskirts of Leeds at Guiseley and has close links to NHS services with established care pathways. It has excellent transport links to Bradford, Leeds and is within a short distance of Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Your responsibilities will include:

Pinhoe View is a 36 bedded inpatient service which includes another full time Consultant Psychiatrist and two full-time associate specialists. In this role,you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (Nursing,OT, Psychology and Social Work) to provide care and treatment for up to 16 patients supported by an Associate Specialist doctor.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist some of your key responsibilities will include management of complex cases, formulating care plans and treatments for individual needs of service users, and guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.

You will be providing strategic leadership and expert psychiatric leadership and clinical oversight within forensic mental health services, acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act and delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to individuals involved with the criminal justice system.
As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will take on RC responsibility for male service users on our medium secure wards. The RC will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.
Where you will be working:
Farmfield Hospital is a 64-bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. The hospital is purpose built and run by the highly experienced Elysium Healthcare group. The hospital is in the beautiful county of Surrey and has excellent transport links to London and Brighton. Gatwick airport is practically next door!
Working with an established multi-professional team, you will deliver individualised care and have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
<ul>
 <li>Ensure the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for patients.</li>
 <li>Work constructively with other multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure good patient care and throughput.</li>
 <li>If needed escalate to the Medical Director or Regional Directors any concerns, in relation to the medical staff, within the region. </li>
 <li>Provide clinical leadership to clinical teams including through effective teambuilding and facilitation.</li>
 <li>Contribute to the training, education and development of staff of all disciplines, in particular medical staff.</li>
 <li>Professionally supervise and appraise medical staff as required.</li>
 <li>Ensure the medical and clinical voice is represented in hospital clinical governance meetings.</li>
 <li>Ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality medical services.</li>
 <li>Guide safe and appropriate implementation of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act in region. </li>
 <li>Liaison with external agencies who are stakeholders in patient care.</li>
 <li>Support compliance with CQC/HIW standards. </li>

To be successful as an applicant you’ll need:

 <li>Full GMC registration with licence to practice</li>
 <li>MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists</li>

 <li>Being on the Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry is highly desirable</li>
 <li>Experience of assessment and management of patients in forensic psychiatric settings.</li>

Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist - Part time

			Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist who wants to help shape mental health care for women across different levels of security? Join The Farndon Unit, a friendly, committed and long established Mental Health Service.
Our hospital rated good across all domains by the CQC, is a small friendly unit, that provides care for up to 46 women across 3 low secure wards (26 beds), one level 2 rehabilitation ward (12 beds) and our new psychiatric rehabilitation ward (8 beds) aimed at individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and comorbid mental illness.&nbsp; 
You will join 2 full time psychiatrists, an associate specialist and an established multidisciplinary team at the Farndon Unit and act as a Responsible Clinician for the 8 inpatients on the newly developed rehabilitation ward and up to 8 patients on our existing level 2 rehab service.&nbsp; You will have the support of an associate specialist working across both wards, a full multidisciplinary team, a personal assistant, a CPA Co-ordinator and a MHA Co-ordinator.

The Farndon Unit provides care for women with a range of mental health conditions. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team offering personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.
The unit houses 47 beds across five wards catering for female patients with low secure care (Bolero and Cortland Wards), a high-dependency psychiatric rehabilitation unit (Aster Ward) and two acute wards (Ruby Frost and Darcy Ward).
