			If you’re an Associate Specialist looking for a new opportunity to join a friendly multidisciplinary team in an established secure service setting delivering&nbsp;high-quality clinical service to people with complex mental health conditions across the medium and low secure service.
&nbsp;Working part time 18.75 hours a week alongside the unit's multidisciplinary team, including the Consultant, to ensure that service users receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model.

As an Associate Specialist, you will ensure the high quality first-line medical care of our inpatients, liaise effectively with external professionals and carers, provide written and oral evidence for Hospital Managers’ and Tribunal hearings, work towards safe discharges including preparing discharge summaries, reports and other necessary documentation and be a valued and effective member of the multidisciplinary team at Thornford Park Hospital
This established service looks to continually innovate, improve and deliver excellent care for its service users, has an active programme of education and research and provides significant developmental opportunities for its staff.
There are currently four other Associate Specialists working in the service. There is no formal on-call commitment attached to the role, but there are opportunities to join the on-call rota through a locum agency which provides on-call services for the hospital.

You will provide the Ward Psychologist role for a male Learning Disability MSU, being an integral part of the multidisciplinary teams, providing psychological input to the service user groups, and supporting and supervising the Assistant Psychologist working on the ward.
We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. Our service users, many of whom have forensic histories, require long-term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple problems, challenging and high-risk behaviour and complex care needs. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability.&nbsp; We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis.
As the Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will be:

 <li>Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.</li>
 <li>Attending regular clinical and service development meetings, such as MDT’s, CPA’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings</li>
