You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. You will receive training in the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. 			Join Emerald Place Clinic as a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist and deliver, treat and empower young people to live a safe and independent life. 
You will join our multidisciplinary team in a 12-bed General Adolescent Inpatient Unit. The unit provides care for young people aged 13 –18 experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring inpatient treatment. You will play a key role in clinical leadership, risk management, and therapeutic planning, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care.
As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will deliver an evidence-based and focused treatment plan to support the children and young people, and their families, as they progress through their care plans to understand eating behaviours and restore physical health.&nbsp;
You will work alongside the talented and experienced multidisciplinary team to create tailored treatment programmes to support the individual needs of each young person within a warm and nurturing environment. This will allow you to understand symptoms, patterns and origins of psychological distress.&nbsp;
Team Structure

Clinical Duties

 <li>Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management of young people admitted to the unit.</li>
 <li>Lead on formulation and treatment planning in collaboration with the MDT.</li>
 <li>Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medication in line with NICE guidelines.</li>
 <li>Conduct regular ward rounds, CPA reviews, and Mental Health Act assessments.</li>
 <li>Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies including Case managers, community CYPMHS, social care, and education providers.</li>
 <li>Provide clinical leadership in managing complex cases and safeguarding concerns.</li>

You will be providing strategic leadership and expert psychiatric leadership and clinical oversight within forensic mental health services, acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act and delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to individuals involved with the criminal justice system.
As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will take on RC responsibility for male service users on our medium secure wards. The RC will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.
Where you will be working:
Farmfield Hospital is a 64-bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. The hospital is purpose built and run by the highly experienced Elysium Healthcare group. The hospital is in the beautiful county of Surrey and has excellent transport links to London and Brighton. Gatwick airport is practically next door!
Working with an established multi-professional team, you will deliver individualised care and have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:

 <li>Ensure the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for patients.</li>
 <li>Work constructively with other multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure good patient care and throughput.</li>
