Senior Mental Health Practitioner - Part time - Wallingford

  <p><strong>We're looking to recruit a Senior Peer Support Worker to join our team to support other Peer Support Workers, team members and service users.</strong></p>
<p><em><strong>This vacancy is open to existing Oxford Health Peer Support Workers and people with experience of working in a peer support role in another organisation.</strong></em></p>
<p>Peer Support Workers (PSW's) are people who have their own lived experience of mental health challenges. They use empathy informed by their own experiences to support service users who are accessing mental health services and their families.</p>
<p>This part time vacancy is for a position within our new South Oxfordshire Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT). You will be based at the Wantage Keystone hub and covering the Didcot area.</p>
<p>PCMHTs are comprised of professionals from health and social care including mental health professionals from the NHS, the third-sector and people who have experienced mental health challenges themselves.</p>
<p>Each PCMHT has one or more Keystone Hubs - developed to provide more specialist care at local level via their GP surgery, and improved communication between GPs and mental health services and form a core of the strengthening of community mental health services in Oxfordshire.</p>
<p>Oxford Health offer the Peer Support Training programme as a nationally recognised accredited Level 3 Apprenticeship (fully funded by Oxford Health) this is completed over a period of 15-19 months depending on whether a Peer Support Worker works part time or full time (22.5-37.5 hours).</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Senior Peer Support Worker will be responsible for supporting the current PSWs to successfully embed the role within the clinical area, to support with their caseloads and to offer mentoring around using their lived experience to support others. This is in addition to, providing support with individual service users and leading or co-leading groups.</p>

<li>Drawing on lived experience of mental health to provide emotional and practical support to an allocated group of service users to promote their recovery.</li>

  <p><strong>Are you an autonomous registered Mental Health Nurse looking for a new role in West Oxfordshire?</strong></p> <p><strong>Do you have experience of working in mental health services and understand the challenges that the Adult care group can bring?</strong></p> <p>North and West AMHT have an opportunity for a Band 6 RMN to become part of a well established Multi disciplinary Team on a full time basis.</p> <p>The service has a new leadership team structure, with new team leaders in place leading to an improved culture and team. The role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop and broaden their leadership skills - mentoring, supervising, and developing the careers and skills of others, as well as yourself.</p> <p>The MDT consists of medics, psychological therapists, social workers, OTs, RMNs and support workers, as well as embedded workers from the third sector to support with employment, housing and social needs. We have an exciting opportunity, due to retirement of the current post holder, to join our Family and Bereavement Support Team. 

Family and Bereavement Counsellor and Support Workers provide emotional and psychological support to parents of babies and children living with a life-threatening illness, or life limiting condition; and provide grief education, emotional and psychological support to parents and grandparents for up to 2 years following the death of a baby or child. Family and Bereavement Counsellor and Support Workers help parents and grandparents with managing their emotions and coping with grief, building their resilience and empowering them at level 1-2 of the Bereavement Network Europe Model. We help clients to access level 3 intervention if they require this.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Applicants will have experience of working therapeutically with individuals experiencing loss and change, youll be compassionate, sensitive, creative and a great communicator. A relevant qualification is essential and this maybe a Diploma in Counselling, Registered Nurse, or Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker with counselling experience or with significant experience of working with grief and loss.  Ideally, youll have experience of working with bereaved parents and have experience of running peer-to-peer bereavement support groups. The post holder will work onsite at Helen &amp; Douglas House Childrens Hospice, in hospital settings and in parents own homes. It is therefore vital to be able to drive and to have a car as the hospice covers 6 surrounding counties.

Clinical supervision is provided in line with British Association of Psychology and Counselling standards which will also complement your resilience and self-care skills. The hours in client facing work count as counselling hours.</p>
