  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust's (CNTW). The role will be for a Peer Supporter for the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders Service (CNDS) based at Walkergate Park. CNDS is a specialist second opinion autism spectrum disorder (ASD) service for children and young people. They provide diagnostic assessments where there is uncertainty around diagnosis. In addition, they also provide consultation and management advice to local services concerning children and young people who already have an existing ASD diagnosis.</p> <p>The Peer Supporter role is a valuable part of the multi-disciplinary support that CNDS provides to children, young people and their families. The role is aimed at people with a diagnosis and personal lived experience of being assessed and receiving a diagnosis of Autism. The main intent of this post is to provide support to children and young people going through a diagnostic autism assessment with CNDS. This might involve supporting children and young people with neurodiversity to engage in the assessment, consideration of reasonable adjustments to support children and young people during the assessment and provide post diagnostic support and advice to children and young people and families. </p>

  <p><strong>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work in the Community Children and Young People's Service (CYPS) in the Northumberland team.</strong> </p>
<p>We welcome applicants who have experience working with children and young people although this is not essential. It is essential that applicants are registered as a Speech and Language Therapist and have previous experience working within a mental health, learning disability or neurodevelopmental setting and/or team. We are interested in appointing a dedicated and committed individual who can demonstrate their ability to engage and work collaboratively with others/partner agencies and understand complex systems in order to support effective pathways.</p>
<p>CYPS provide care, treatment and assessment for young people with complex, moderate to severe needs over the whole of Northumberland. </p>
<p>The multi-disciplinary team comprises a highly skilled and experienced workforce of consultant psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychotherapists, social workers, art therapists and support workers. The team are dedicated, compassionate and always put young people and their families at the centre of everything they do.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will provide specialist SALT assessment, intervention and recommendations for children and young people accessing these services. You will work as an integral member of the CYPS MDT and support the ongoing development of the SALT provision in the service.</p>
<p>You should have qualifications and experience relevant in this clinical field and work well as part of a close team and be able to work independently. You will liaise closely with fellow professionals to address communication difficulties as part of a holistic, service user centred service and be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as have the ability to work independently.</p>
<p>The post will be based at St Georges Park Hospital in Morpeth, Northumberland. You will be required to travel to other sites across the Trust as part of the role.</p>

  <p><strong>An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Secure Care for a full time, permanent, Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist. </strong></p>
<p>This is a development post, the successful applicant will be employed in a band 5 role whilst they follow a preceptorship programme, on successful completion of this programme they will move into a band 6 role.</p>
<p>We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge in this area. We welcome applications from speech and language therapists who are already qualified and those who will qualify this academic year. </p>
<p>You will work into the Adult Secure Care Services as part of an MDT offering a service at the Sycamore Unit, Northgate Park, Morpeth, as well as helping adults move out of hospital to live in the community. </p>
<p>The secure care service is a regional and national service offering care and treatment to adults with diagnoses of learning disabilities, mental health conditions and personality disorders who are offenders and are cared for within conditions of medium and low security.</p>
  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will have some knowledge and experience of working with adults who have complex needs and ideally some experience of working in a secure inpatient setting. </p>
<p>You will need to be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and have an understanding and experience of working with people with a range of complex issues from a variety of settings and environments. </p>
<p>Under the support and supervision of specialist and advanced speech and language therapists, you will work to support service users to achieve their therapeutic goals by supporting their language and communication skills. You will provide a range of communication interventions with service users both directly and indirectly. </p>
<p>There will be a requirement to share knowledge and skills specific to speech and language therapy to other members of the team including stakeholders. You will liaise closely with fellow professionals to address communication and eating/drinking difficulties as part of a holistic, service user centred service. You will contribute to care plans and provide high quality service user centred care.</p>
<p>You will receive regular support, training and opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge. We actively encourage professional development and provide opportunities for all in the speech and language therapy teams to contribute to the development of the Speech and Language Therapy service.</p>

  <p>We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic psychologist to join our busy multi-disciplinary Sunderland South Tyneside Children and Young People's Service. The post is based in the South Tyneside team neurodevelopmental assessment pathway. There will also be opportunities to work into the mental health pathway. This will enable the successful candidate to develop and extend their clinical skills and knowledge.</p> <p>You will be working in an environment where there is strong emphasis on teamwork and quality of clinical care. You will work collaboratively with our friendly multidisciplinary team members including other qualified psychologists and Assistant Psychologists who support the qualified roles. Professionally there are links with the wider network of psychologists who deliver psychology across the service, including learning disability and cared for pathways. As a service, we value the role of robust, supportive and effective supervision and you will have access to separate clinical and management supervision.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Within the neurodevelopmental assessment team you will be responsible for leading assessment and formulation of complex presentations, exploring possible neurodevelopmental vulnerabilities and/or disorder as well as thoroughly considering wider factors and comorbidity. Our assessments provide thorough profiling of young people's strengths, needs and difficulties helping to ensure that they have access to the most appropriate understanding and supports as they develop and grow. We are ideally looking for a clinician who has knowledge and training in neurodevelopmental assessment skills and who is able to put the young person and their family at the centre of every assessment. The successful candidate will be supported in developing specialist skills that are relevant to this role, for example completing training in ADOS assessment.</p> <p>Within the mental health pathway we deliver a range of psychological therapies including CBT, EMDR, Family Therapy, Art Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop their psychological therapies skills through co-working and robust supervision.</p>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
    <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

<p>*<strong>Counting your hours</strong></p>
<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
