  <p>An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Therapy Radiographer (Band 5) to join the team at our cancer centre in Macclesfield. The Macclesfield unit is the first Christie satellite centre with radiotherapy and chemotherapy departments and is therefore able to offer concurrent chemo-radiotherapy treatments. The department also delivers complex radiotherapy techniques (e.g. SABR and SGRT) using state of the art equipment. Consequently, we can offer a wide range of treatments to local patients, as well as varied development opportunities to radiographers.</p> <p>The post holder will be based at the Macclesfield site in East Cheshire but, will be expected to work across all Christie sites as required.This is a rotational post and you will have the opportunity to work across treatment and pre-treatment sections of the department.</p> <p>All candidates must be already registered with the HCPC and possess a Therapy Radiographer qualification (or evidence they are due to qualify this year).</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>JOB PURPOSE:</p> <p>To ensure accurate planning and delivery of Radiotherapy, as prescribed, and inline with the Quality Management System, with appropriate care of the patientwith a cancer diagnosis.</p> <p>To be involved with the development of Radiotherapy Services.This is a rotational post and may involve working in pre-treatment, treatmentdelivery across all Christie sites.</p> <p>SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>To ensure that the highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment is safeand accurate to operate, both for staff and patients; undertaking the appropriatemachine checks, reporting any variances, faults and malfunctions as necessary.This may include run up of equipment alongside the engineers at some sites.</p> <p>oUndertake and evaluate radiation dose delivery complex calculations,involving a range of radiation types and energies.</p> <p>oInterpret, monitor and evaluate the treatment prescription to ensure thatradiotherapy is delivered accurately and reproducibly.</p>

			<p>Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist who wants to help shape mental health care for women across different levels of security? Join The Farndon Unit, a friendly, committed and long established Mental Health Service.</p>
<p>Our hospital rated good across all domains by the CQC, is a small friendly unit, that provides care for up to 46 women across 3 low secure wards (26 beds), one level 2 rehabilitation ward (12 beds) and our new psychiatric rehabilitation ward (8 beds) aimed at individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and comorbid mental illness.&nbsp; </p>
<p>You will join 2 full time psychiatrists, an associate specialist and an established multidisciplinary team at the Farndon Unit and act as a Responsible Clinician for the 8 inpatients on the newly developed rehabilitation ward and up to 8 patients on our existing level 2 rehab service.&nbsp; You will have the support of an associate specialist working across both wards, a full multidisciplinary team, a personal assistant, a CPA Co-ordinator and a MHA Co-ordinator. </p>
<p>You will be part of an environment that specialises in providing trauma therapy and utilises positive behavioural support to empower and assist service users in their recovery and have access to a supportive peer group of like-minded professionals to engage and network with, excellent CPD prospects, as well as a range of benefits and career development opportunities. </p>
<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>

    <li>Working effectively with patients and colleagues to ensure the best care and treatment outcomes</li>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
    <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

<p>*<strong>Counting your hours</strong></p>
<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>

    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
</ul>
