  <p><strong>**Occupational Therapy Opportunity**</strong>  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist, to work with adults of working age within the inpatient service at Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist who is experienced in the field of mental health. You will be based within the Therapies department (comprised of Occupational Therapists; Art Psychotherapists and Psychologists) and will work to provide a therapeutic activity programme and will also work closely with service users during their recovery, assessing their needs and providing treatment interventions to facilitate their successful discharge. The use of OT assessment and evaluation tools will be a part of your everyday practice.  We require someone who is flexible and approachable. Effective communication skills, time management and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to engage in activities related to your continuing professional development and clinical effectiveness through regular in-service training and a comprehensive supervision and appraisal structure. The post holder will be expected to supervise band 5 OT's and take students, and there will be excellent opportunities to develop your professional. </p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>

  <p>The Mental Health Support Teams are a service designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in educational settings. The MHS Teams are made up of Senior Clinicians, CAMHS Practitioners, Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and Children well being practitioners (CWP). They are based across education settings as an additional resource within a whole-system approach to promote resilience and well being, support earlier intervention, enable appropriate signposting and deliver evidence-based support, care and interventions.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>There are currently eight MHSTs across Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Bedford, working across 110 schools in total. The successful candidate will be employed by Bedfordshire &amp; Luton CAMHS (ELFT), where the MHSTs deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT) and emotional wellbeing interventions. You will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and capabilities to work as a qualified core professional/EMHP/CWP, as an autonomous and responsible practitioner within your scope of practice, alongside education and health colleagues.</p> <p>You will be confident in providing support to young people and families with anxiety, low mood and challenging behaviours. You will be flexible and creative in responding to the needs of the school populations, with excellent support from your team and supervision. You will also be able to adapt to working remotely, prioritising access to services and resources.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
   <p>The post holder will be a care coordinator, assessing and treating children and young people in the team working in collaboration with the multiple disciplinary teams (MDT). The post holder will also be involved in supporting and advising parents and carers of C&amp;YP referred to the service as well as offering consultation and advice to their professional networks. The post holder may be expected to offer supervision to junior colleagues.</p>

  <p>Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in the assessment and treatment of children and young people referred to CAMHS.</p> <p>Ensure that all recording and reporting of client contact are accurate, up to date, of good quality and within CAMHS and professional requirement standards of record keeping. To collect &amp; collate information about individual clinical activity on ePJS</p> <p>Work with the team and clients to maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Work to assure the quality of care through achieving high operational standards in clinical systems</p> <p>To maintain and ensure good professional standards and attitudes towards the care and treatment of children, young people and their families</p> <p>To link with other statutory and voluntary agencies and professionals as well as other CAMHS Teams in terms of referrals and joint work. We also have a range of specially developed educational mental health programmes targeted at school age children and young people for interventions to whole classes, small groups, and individual students.</p> <p>Local CAMHS</p> <p>Southwark CAMHS employs a large number of child and adolescent mental-health staff. These come from a variety of disciplines including: child psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, family therapy, nursing and occupational therapy, art and drama psychotherapy.
