Specialist Counsellor

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen, for someone to join our team of cancer counsellors at ESNEFT. We are looking for a motivated and experienced counsellor with the skills to offer therapeutic support to cancer patients and their relatives.</p>
<p>As part of a cross site collaborative counselling service, you will work 34 hours per week across 4 or 5 days, based in the Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals. Subject to room availability and needs of the service you will work at least 2 days at Colchester (Monday and Tuesday) and 1 day in Ipswich (Wednesday or Friday). Other time can be worked from home. Regular outreach clinics are held in Clacton and counsellors also provide telephone support from home.</p>
<p>You are required to have previous experience of working as a counsellor, ideally in a secondary care setting. You will be BACP accredited or working towards accreditation with substantial experience of counselling clients and time-limited work. You will support cancer patients and their loved ones who may present with a range of needs, such as trauma, grief and loss to effectively manage the challenges and ethical dilemmas presented in this area of work.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team, including counsellors, clinical nurse specialists, doctors, information staff and volunteers. Part of the role will be to facilitate education, clinical supervision and reflective practice to cancer services staff, as well as raise the awareness of the benefits of counselling to other health professionals.</p>
<p>You will have the ability to be flexible, have good organisational and problem-solving skills; prioritising workload effectively and working collaboratively to continually evaluate and improve services. Working independently you will be responsible for the administrative duties, record keeping and data collection and analysis associated with the role. You will lead on the bookings of the clients referred and liaise with the Wellbeing centre staff regarding room bookings. You will be confident in multi-tasking and able to demonstrate excellent IT and telephone skills.</p>

  <p>A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Peer
Support Worker within the Teign Core Adult Community Mental Health Team based
at Estuary House in Newton Abbot. This is a part-time position, working 22.5 per week.</p><p><strong>You need to have the ability to travel to meet the demands of the role.</strong></p><p>The successful candidate will be joining a
dynamic, motivated and skilled service and help the team in the Teign Core
Adult Mental Health Team build upon the successful work they have and
continue to achieve. The team are

  <p>Due to internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for a person with lived experience of Mental Health conditions to use their experience to support others as a Peer Support Worker within the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Team, who support service users in the community with their employment goals.</p> <p>You will provide support to individuals within the service by role modelling and using your lived experience to support service users in their recovery and employment journey.</p> <p>Service users will be seen mainly in defined localities within Lincolnshire but cover for other geographical areas covered by the Trust may be required if the need arises.</p>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust's (CNTW). The role will be for a Peer Supporter for the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders Service (CNDS) based at Walkergate Park. CNDS is a specialist second opinion autism spectrum disorder (ASD) service for children and young people. They provide diagnostic assessments where there is uncertainty around diagnosis. In addition, they also provide consultation and management advice to local services concerning children and young people who already have an existing ASD diagnosis.</p> <p>The Peer Supporter role is a valuable part of the multi-disciplinary support that CNDS provides to children, young people and their families. The role is aimed at people with a diagnosis and personal lived experience of being assessed and receiving a diagnosis of Autism. The main intent of this post is to provide support to children and young people going through a diagnostic autism assessment with CNDS. This might involve supporting children and young people with neurodiversity to engage in the assessment, consideration of reasonable adjustments to support children and young people during the assessment and provide post diagnostic support and advice to children and young people and families. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a specialist clinical team, utilising your personal experience to:</p> <ul>  <li>Support and engage children and young people</li>  <li>Consider with children and young people what reasonable adjustments may be required during the assessment process. </li>  <li>Empower children, young people and families and carers by providing child and family friendly resources</li>  <li>Involving children and young people (where possible) families and carers in the assessment by amplifying the voices of families via engagement with the team</li>  <li>Provide post-diagnostic support to families and young people</li> </ul> <p>This will be a challenging, but rewarding role, working with children and young people and their families and carers. The post holder must have the ability to communicate where there are barriers to understanding, and they must be able to work as part of a team.   <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Genetic/Genomic Counsellor to join the NWTRGS Cancer Genetics team in delivering a comprehensive, equitable clinical genomic and counselling service for people with, or at-risk of, inherited cancer.</p> <p>The post holder will have experience in genetic/genomic counselling and will manage an independent caseload of diagnostic, pre-symptomatic and urgent cancer cases. They will have on-call responsibilities which include managing urgent cases and being able to answer appropriate queries.</p> <p>As a member of the Cancer Genetics Team, the post holder will also be involved in providing cancer risk assessment advice and guidance and be responsible for preparing for and attending relevant MDTs. The post holder may also be involved in a specialist cancer clinic depending on the needs of the service. They will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the scientific, medical, and psychological aspects of Clinical Genetics. The post holder will work alongside other clinicians within the department, as well as other healthcare professionals, including mainstream colleagues. The post holder should already hold or be working toward professional UK registration.</p>
